Character Limit on PM's?
I tried to PM a member in their inbox, and it kept saying I exceeded the 3000 character limit. Bullshit!! I know I had way fewer than 3000 characters, and it still wouldn't accept it!! What's wrong with this thing? I had to delete 60% of my message before the inbox would accept it, and by then what I had to say had been so far widdled away, there was bearly any point in writing at all.
Is there more character capacity in the PM emails than in the PM inboxes?
What suggestions do you have? This really annoyed the hell out of me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

E-Mail. Sorry, normally I´m not that laconic(and it turns out, yet again I´m not.), but it's as simple as that.

Re: Character Limit on PM's?
I remember that same thing happening to me a few times on the old forum, John. Seems there was the same type of limit on each individual post. Yup, annoying as inflamed hemmorhoids, especially after you've typed the damn thing.

Re: Character Limit on PM's?
I have been trying to get into the habit of marking the whole PM text and pushing Shift+C just before sending it off. That has saved me a few times already.
Yes, I read somewhere on the support forums that there is a limit on PMs, I just don't remember what the number was. It is a lot higher for premium members, too. *shrugs*

Re: Character Limit on PM's?
That's a definite improvement! My main beef about the limit on the old forum was there was no warning when you were approaching the limit. The first you'd know was when the post couldn't be posted due to exceeding the limit. Maybe it was just me, but after you'd get the notice about exceeding the limit, the post would be zapped to the black hole of cyberspace somewhere.
Like I said, it was likely my lack of technical knowledge that led to the problem a few times...we won't mention the fact that I can be a long winded horse at times, too! But, like the song says, "MrEd will never speak unless he has something to say"

Equine discrimination! I always suspected it! Sounds like the basis for a class action suit!

Re: Character Limit on PM's?
I'm not sure I really asked the right question:
I see that PM's to the "Inbox" are limited to 3,000 characters, but are PM's to the "email" limited to the same 3,000, or are their capacities higher?
