best concert DVD?
Which is your favourite?
I only have 2, CHOHW and TA.
Although i think Total Abandon is a better showcase of the band's talent, it doesn't seem to have the agressive flair of Come Hell or High Water.
Maybe I just like CHOHW because I know it is the closest I'll ever come to seeing MkII live.

Re: best concert DVD?
I have TA, CHOH, Florida 01 & Concerto 99
TA has the best speed king morse/lord duel
CHOH has LOTS of energy despite Ritchie being in a bad mood that night
Florida 01 is probably the best picteu/sound wise
Concerto 99..well - not your usual gig, but very good nevertheless
I've found myself watching Florida more than the others thhough

Re: best concert DVD?
I saw all DVD shows. My rate:
CHOHW - good job by Ian Paice (his solo in Lazy ); Roger and Jon. But Ritchie - he plays good, but his mood is really bad. And Ian Gillan - really not good job!
Bombay - good job by all members, but sound and picture isn´t on proffesional level. But Ian Gillan did good job in Child In Time. Steve Morse isn´t sure in band yet, but he plays good.
Total Abandon - best Purple DVD for me to this days! Concert in Australia was really GREAT! All members in band are doing their best! Yes, it´s only greatest hits list, but... these hits are played in really top form!
Concerto - greatest picture and sound! Really good job by everyone in band and orchestra too! Especially SOTW - lot of energy in this song and good audience too. Maybe best version of SOTW on DVDs!
Perihelion - good DVD, but in few songs Ian seemed tired. His image (I mean his red leather trousers) is awful. But his voice is excellent in numbers like: Fools, Perfect Strangers or last number - Highway Star. It´s pity, that show is cutted!
I believe, that they will release any DVD from their current Dream Setlist American tour. They are in better form than on all DVDs (Prague show was better than all shows in one!).

Re: best concert DVD?
Many of the shows I have witnessed were better than any of the DVD's.
I'd love to see one of this tour getting released and a good one of the Mark II Perfect Strangers era,for there really isn't a single one (shame really).

By far CHOHW. It doesn't matter that Gillan struggles throughout. He's only the singer anyway and Blackmore on a bad day is better than anyone on their best day. The water throwing incident just goes to show a passion and danger that doesn't exist with todays lineup.

Re: best concert DVD?
Come Hell Or Highwater is great but I prefer Perihelion. Perihelion is my favorite.
Also no one has mentioned the '69 Concerto. I like this one too.

Re: best concert DVD?
I have concerto 69 too.
It's a bit different. Still a good show, could have used the performances of CIT, RTN and Hush though. Lord's commetry is good though.

Those are the three that dominate my VCR and DVD along with Rainbow 77.

Re: best concert DVD?
Concerto '69
Masters from the vaults (for including Doing their thing and the EP)
From the Morse-stuff, Total Abandon is fair. That's as far as I'll go.
