We did have a prior discussion about this
you just don't remember.

OK, I've found our 'discussion' under the topic of "GnR, Aerosmith, And Purple????" at http://com3.runboard.com/bdeeppurplefanforum.fmainchat.t261

Not really a discussion. And I did not, "respond once to me stating the dates were genuine". In amongst a totally different, non-Rainbow topic, you wrote:

quote:

"Speeking of giglist's have you seen the Rainbow giglist at Deep Purple.net
I can attest to one gig in their being false
it say's they played two night's at the Portland memorial
colliseum in 82 and it never happened cause I was
living in PO and very active in the concert scene
and trust me I doubt the show's were even booked,
Rainbow in 82 could not have filled such a bill
of two night's."

I replied:

quote:

"If you get anything more concrete on this, drop me an email, details on the site."

Having now found the thread ["GnR, Aerosmith, And Purple????" was hardly an obvious place to look] only now, for the first time, have I read your follow up [which you chose not to email to me, as I had asked]:

quote:

"To Nigel Young
all the eveidence I have is all the evidence I need.

I was working at Music Millenium in Portland in 1982
we were a direct colliseum ticket outlet.
If those Rainbow show's were booked then the ticket's
were never even printed.
I also have a close personal friend that worked for
Double T production's named Lowell McGregor and he got me in with and kept me up on the whole scene.

The very next year Rainbow booked a show at the Salem Armory with Cheap Trick, that venue is a two thousand seater
and the show cancelled due to a lack of ticket sales.
The colliseum is an eleven thousand seater,no way could
Rainbow have filled two show's there.
The only time Rainbow played in Portland Oregon was
on the DTC tour and they opened for Pat Traver's
some day I will go over the event's that took place at that excellent show but I don't have time right now to go into it.

Nigel, if you read this
please tell me your source of said Rainbow 2 night's in Portland 1982 show's.
I would like to know where you got your misinformation"

If only you'd emailed me.

The source details for the gigs are, like all the other gigs, boxed away in storage at the moment. From memory, I can recall a full-page tour advert.

If you'd email me, I can ensure you are credited when the site is next updated.

Geez man, give it a break I mean it is only a Rainbow gig list for crying out loud, hardly the end of the world!Nigel's getting his information from people over the internet like you (unless you thought he'd actually been to all these shows emoticon) just email him with your dates like he's been telling you and get it over with already.

Also, please do cut the guy some slack, the Purple, Rainbow and Whitesnake giglists he has come up with are an invaluable source of information (I know I use them all the time) and took a lot of time to prepare, some sort of respect is in order I think unless you plan on spending countless of hours doing the same for no financial gain whatsoever.

Well you are known to have been wrong on more than one occasion. But at least you finally figured out to email him.
