Malmsteen's Live Concerto DVD
Anyone know if this is ever going to be released worldwide? It's only had a Japanese release so far, AFAIK.

Re: Malmsteen's Live Concerto DVD
When Yngwie signed with SPV for Attack (who has recently rereleased three of his 90s albums in Europe with the odd instrumental bonus track on there) it was said that they also took the Concerto DVD on for release too. Since then (one or two years back) nothing's happened... I managed to trace a Japanese import of the CD of the Concerto (it is a live performance, all the studio Concerto tracks plus Blitzkrieg, Brothers, a cracking Far Beyond The Sun, Trilogy Suite and an orchestra only Black Star) and forked out 20 quid for it which I have to say was well worth it, it is an excellent piece of work (non-comparable to another one of his albums discussed on a thread just below ). Here's to hoping the DVD will see the light of day in Europe soon enough...

Re: Malmsteen's Live Concerto DVD
I've got the Japanese DVD. It's a good show, but obviously it's not the same as his typical shows in terms of presentation.
For that reason, unless you really want to see him just standing there playing (and thinking that he's put on a little weight), the CD is sufficient.
In a sense, it's like the DP Concerto where it's neat to see the band actually play, but they're not doing anything like running around, swinging guitars, throwing water on cameramen, throwing amps into the media pit, etc.
