Well I think it's even more fun to watch this when you have those details, as some lifted eyebrows in the orchestra and so on. And the 'where are we?' look from mr Arnold...
The musical highlight to me is nevertheless Ian Gillans short part. It's way too short, but my god what a singer!

I agree totally! I forgot how brilliant of a vocalist Ian was back in the day. I've been listening to a lot of recent stuff. I'm not saying he's bad now, not at all, but he was untouchable then.

Absolutely, he was Mr. Voice in those days. Watch, or listen rather, how he smoothly melts the female members of the audience. emoticon

After smoothly melting the female members of the audience I would imagine that his slot would have been followed by an extended guitar solo !!!!!!!!! Is there a spare piano round here?

Yes it was performed with the
the music of light orchestra
or something like that.
It was released and can be found on the Purple Pyramid label and comes with a nice little poster.
This is arguably one of Gillan's finest moment's
brilliant performance IMHO.
Don't know if it was filmed. emoticon

I hesitated buying this but it is worth forking out for the commentary alone! A brilliant feature indeed and am I alone in getting a mental image of Jon Lord sitting in some studio with his slippers on and a cup of tea recording this whenever I watch the DVD?

I picture him in a studio wearing all those clothes that he mocks himself for - those "horrible trousers" and the "lavatory chain" round his neck
