The water-incident is during Highwaystar, when RB has just detected the camera man behind Jon and then decides to throw the cup of water on it.IG's missus,at this moment, was standing behind it and was sharing the wetness with the cam.-lense.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Lesliescream)Sat, 22 Nov 2003 06:16:51 +0000 Re: Come Hell Or High Waterhttps://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p107840,from=rss#post107840https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p107840,from=rss#post107840quote:jenny wrote: There's one moment when he talks to the crowd - does anyone know what he said? I watched it 5 times and couldn't make it out at all. "Stand up take a bow, you´ve got the most out-of-tune-voice I´ve ever heard in my life, I love it", directing at a member of the crowd who screamed along to the tune of Für Elise which he just played. Took me quite a while to figure that out. Must be quite hard to understand even if english is your mother tongue... quote:jenny wrote: One other question for those of you who know more about these things than I (and maybe some of you were there????). Was the famous "water-throwing incident" during Highway Star, or was the bit where the water landed on Gillan's wife something that happened later when the cameras weren't running? All in all, I really enjoyed it. Now I have to decide what DVD to pick up next - I think I might wait for Scandinavian Nights. Everyone who has mentioned it here says it's really good. You can see that (BTW it was intended to hit the cameraman, which suceeded) during Ritchie´s solo spot on Highway Star(he stops it even for it). You see even a shot from the angle of the camera when it´s full of water. Scandinavian Nights is quite a good video to pick up, although it´s recorded(in my opinion) during the worse part of the 1972 tour. You can see purple in their best shape their though, with Blackmore smiling a lot and joking around with the rest of the band. You´ll just have to wait till it´s out on DVD!nondisclosed_email@example.com (Milan Fahrnholz)Sat, 22 Nov 2003 06:15:37 +0000 Come Hell Or High Waterhttps://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p107839,from=rss#post107839https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p107839,from=rss#post107839I just bought this DVD today, and watched it for the first time a little while ago. I remember reading a bit about this gig here and on the THS forums, and somehow I expected it to be a lot worse! Even without Blackmore on stage, they sounded really good. You could really tell there was a lot of tension in the band, though. I couldn't help but compare it to the show I saw on their last tour, when they were all smiling and having a great time. On this DVD, it looked like that stage was absolutely the last place they wanted to be. I was also surprised to hear them play 'Difficult To Cure', and this struck me as really ironic. Here was Jon Lord, playing a song originally recorded (in this form, anyways - yes, I know it's really Beethoven's 9th reworked) by Don Airey! Jon's solo was outstanding, by the way. There's one moment when he talks to the crowd - does anyone know what he said? I watched it 5 times and couldn't make it out at all.
