Blackmore Signature Stratocaster

We all know there are several versions of the Ritchie Blackmore Signature Stratocaster available :-
1) Current Japan Version
2) 90's Japan Version
3) Japan Set Neck
4) USA Custom Shop version.

Question is, apart from Brian who we know has a Number 2 and a Number 4, have any other guitarists here bought one of these or would you buy one and what price would or did you want to pay for it.

These seem to come up for sale very infrequently, either new or 2nd hand, so I'm curious to see who already has these or would like one.

Perhaps you could also say something about yours if you have one, or two as in Brians case.

ps I've seen a lot of adverts for the Custom Shop version at varying prices from $1,800-4,500 but there doesn't seem to be the stock availability to support the adverts, i.e. they don't have one in stock just right now but can get it sometime !

I've got a Japanese version, the one with the false medium pick-up

I bought it in 97 soon after its release and paid 6000F, a little bit less than 1000 euro

As I'm a left handed player, the seller modified the guitar, so I'm a kind of Hendrix/Blackmore ...in my dreams emoticon

Assuming it was a right handed version you got, did you have it scalloped on what would be the low E side of the neck then, or are you using the standard neck playing it upside down ? That must be interesting if it's standard the scallops will be upside down !

It does run even higher up the neck, but lower down it's more on the high E and virtually not thee on the lowe E side. So to play it upside down would be differnet !

I know they're certainly not good value for money and that it basically wouldn't be a very good idea to ever get one but every time I actually see one....

If I had a spare grand or so to throw away right now......

Funny that......I know exactly what you mean, something to with the heart ruling the head! Maybe you should speak nicely to Santa Clause and see what she can do for you. No signature gear is worth the money, but at the end of the day it's only money and you only live once......I might even be tempted myself, you just don't see these come up often 2nd hand and I've never seen one new like this in the UK.

How does the current Japan version of the Richie Blackmore Signiture Strat compare to the other three?
There seems to be an almost complete absence of information available about it on the internet, except for on Japanese websites. I have seen the Japan version on e-bay. How much is it worth?
Are there any good links for photos of the American version on the net, that show various views including the back. The Fender website and all other sites I've seen seem to only show the same front view.

There are plenty of pictures of the current one on that auction, including detail shot of the neck and the scallops. Brian on here has the USA set neck maybe he'd take some pictures and send them to you. He's alos got a Japn version, so he is well placed to give a comparision of them.
