Queen-News of the World 40th Anniversary box (Lp/ 3cd/dvd).
Have you had a chance to watch the dvd yet? I've been on the fence about picking this up and it all really hinges on the dvd at this point.
Yes I have. I have to say it's a really good documentary (about 1 hour) of vintage footage of the band recording the album, mixing, rehearsing, on the road, on stage,...lots of interviews of all members. It's very interesting to see how much of a BAND they were (I really thought that this album had suffered from their ego-trippin', that they were somehow starting to record the tracks separatly, but it appears that it wasn't the case). It's a great insight of Queen in 77. I recommend it, even if the box-set is pricy.
The 2 cd's of bonus material are real good too. Some great raw versions, ...
I wish there would have been an entire show (cd or dvd).

Oh very cool, thank you!
Yeah, that whole '77 Houston show was filmed, it would have been the opportune time to include it with the box.

Re: Re:
Bernie Torme - Shadowland
bought and signed by the man himself at WinterStorm festival in Troon, Scotland on Saturday. I had to buy it after seeing him perform an absolutely amazing show. I have never seen anyone play guitar like that in many many years of going to gigs. Wonderful, and such a nice humble guy who was moved to tears by the reception he got.

I have the Alice Cooper album in the B&W. Its a cool look. And Painkiller is one of my favorite JP albums. Not sure I would buy it in vinyl though.

My cd copy got destroyed years ago and I'd been wanting to replace it. They didn't have a cd copy, but they had the new reissue on vinyl and since the majority of my JP collection is on vinyl I figured why not.
I like the way the AC album looks but even happier by the way it sounds...generally, gimmicky vinyl whether it be picture disc or colored tends to lose some fidelity but they did a good job of keeping the sound quality up on it.
