Re: What are you listening at the moment?
Lucifer's friend "Too late to hate". Interesting reunion album. John Lawton is still an amazing singer and Peter Hesslein is a gifted compser.
By the way, one of the big "what if"s I sometimes have is about Lawton joining Rainbow instead of Bonnett in '79. He was often gravitating around the purple family, being discovered by Glover, singing on his Butterfly Ball project, singing great for a few years in Uriah Heep, he could have joined Rog easily and to me he would have been a better fit for Rainbow. Thinking about it, I'm gonna try and ask Glover himself at the premiere of the Infinite movie next week!

He definitely would have handled the Dio material well, as there is a similarity in their voices. That said, Blackmore was probably much too image-conscious to even give Lawton consideration at the time.

Re: What are you listening at the moment?
You are probably right, that could have been an issue. On the other hand, Bonnett doesn't seem necessarily a better option, image wise.
