Speaking of breaking the strat,
does anyone have the vinyl boot,
Perfect Stranger
live at the Budakon 1985

Great quality, you can hear the strat crashing over and over and it's kinda scary sounding
multiple loud crashes.

That's one of the only boot's
I have where you get a graphic detail of
him smashing his axe.

Well aparently he was busting the crap out of it.
The performance on that boot is very good,
but This one I can definetly tell that
Gillan is using that vocal splitter that
makes it sound like he is using backing tapes.

I did not like that contraption device.
I'm sure it was used whenever he was
feeling not up to CIT.

Yes but no CIT performed at Knebworth so
it was not as bad.

I'm not quite done with this one, but it will give you a lot of info to make your mind up about what boots to track down.

http://www.thehighwaystar.com/specials/collinslive/

Remember, it's all down to one's personal taste. One boot may sound great, with an average performance and another boot may sound poor, but have a stunningly aggressive and essential performance. My personal faves from MkII are Long Beach '73, Mary Lose Gear In Fire and Wolverhampton 2/20/72.

Cheers, Jim C.

Like MetalJim said, a lot of times it comes down to a personal and at the same time possibly an intangible reason why one person will favor a bootleg that someone else or even a lot of other someone elses don't particularly care for. That said, here's some of my favorite MkII boots...

"Louder Than Lennon" (1/30/71)
"Live In Offenbach" (4/10/71)
"Danish Yodel Beware" (4/24/71)
"Antiques Roadshow" (3/3+4/87)
"Locked In A Paper Cage' (5/23/87)
"Brixton Academy" (11/8/93)
