Re: Best MKII boot?
Oooh, very very tough this one. Will just go with two of my current favourites; pre-reunion Danish Yodel and post-reunion Nail It To Your Head (Brixton 1993). Probably different next week mind you.

Re: Best MKII boot?
Finish In Finland is a corker as well although the sound's a bit too weak for my taste (plenty of much better sounding boots from this tour). AWESOME version of Speed King, some of the best Blackmore and Lord trade-offs ever! Think I'll load it on my CD-player actually and cop a listen, it has been a while!

Re: Best MKII boot?
I love it too but your right about the sound
it's kinda muffled but the performance
makes up for it.
Quality boot Christos maybe you can inform me which
part of the gig Ritchie break's his strat?
I've only had the boot for a short time
so I haven't made it out yet.

Re: Best MKII boot?
He doesn't break the guitar in Helsinki. Ritchie only did his well-known antic twice on that tour, I can't remember the first one (central Europe somewhere) but the second one, and his last with Purple, definitely was two nights before the Helsinki gig, in Oslo (15/11).

And I had both hands on that guitar, and I had to let it go, and I didn't even know this was the very last guitar Ritchie would ever smash on stage.

My opinion (and taste) says 'Ritchie's Blues' (or also called Amsterdam Paradiso) from august 24, 1969. Kneel&Pray (later Speed King) is sooo unfinished, and yet makes an explosive opener. And Child In Time offers a great organ solo, as the guitarsolo wasn't developed yet. A great one!
