I can care less, who was doing the controlling, but I've never witnessed any claim, that Gillan was doing such things.

I do however, think that Blackmore, was being consulted beyond the qualified level, by his girlfriend of 28 years younger than him.
Look at his image transition, or outgoing re emergence of it, during the SIUA period.
It's easy to see, who was doing the consulting, including writing songs, that were just a rehashing as usual, but by her, and that is just taking the things she liked, and weaving them together, to strengthen his image, including his attire... have you once spotted Blackmore, in anything but medieaval garb, since 1997?

Having her sing backstage on the TBRO tour, without their prior knowledge... it was all being worked on as early as that tour... to say she didn't have a huge infleuence, would be an understatement of naieve proportions.
Trust me, there are things you don't have wind of, concerning the circumstances, to this day, or so it seems.

The interview from Swedish Television, where he talks of beating Gillan up, happened during the tour, the DVD interviews, were composed well after that, so who was responsible for starting all the published mud slinging?
I say it was Blackmore, and they just defended theirselves... they insisted on having fun, and he didn't... I see no crime in that, and it's often an envious man, that can't handle such a thing, for whatever reason.
As far as I'm concerned, nothing touches Blackmores involvement in starting the bad mouthing, with that "I'm going to beat him up" garbage.
I'm sure things took a major turn for the worst, when he went public, with that scandalous staetement.
Something he isn't able to do in the first place... now, tell me where Gillan has ever been so disrespectfull in the press, about Blackmore???????????????????????

I sent you a PM on the subject. We don't need to go through the same stuff once more in public.

Well, Gillan have called Blackmore an intellectual (don't know if that's how you write it in english?) dwarf! He once said in an interview, commenting on Blackmore's "mystery illness causing Purple to cancel some show, that "it can't be hemmoroids- everybody knows he's a perfect asshole"! On the Machine Head dvd he states the "he's got Bulgarian radiowaves coming through his head all the time" comenting on Blackmore's big hat from the seventies.

The statement that Blackmore made during the Battle-tour about beating Gillan up was typical Blackmorish humour, just like Gillan's statements are typical Gillanish humour. Don't take it to serious! We all know that Blackmore don't stand a chance against Big Ian. Ian would've beaten the c..ap out of him!

What I take a little more serious is that Gillan still talks bad about Blackmore so many years after, and now it doesen't sound like humour anymore. It sounds like he really hate him. I guess he got his reasons....

I can only talk about interviews in Polish magazines.

Gillan seldom talks about Blackmore out of his initiative.

He is usually asked: what do you think about Blackmore? Is there any chance you will play with him again?

And in most interviews I have read recently in Polish press Gillan says that he has good memories of the early days, he says he respects him as a guitarist, but at the same time he talks about all the bad things Blackmore did to DP later on and that there is no chance they will play together.

I can see no hatred in those interviews.I can see more pity/shame that Blackmore behaved the way he behaved. Just honest answers to questions asked over and over again.

If people ask you what you really think about your wife after a long and painful and embarassing divorce that you do not really think was your fault, you would probably talk about good things in the past but also bad things that happened later.

And the situation with Gillan-Blackmore boils down to pretty much the same thing, in my opinion.

Gillan, DP, Wife...the usual bullshit from the drunk. He chose to leave his "wife". His "wife" carried on. Should his "wife" wait fo him to finnish his other relations? He's so full of !@#$.

He respects Blackmore? in the same breath he blames Blackmore for the demise of D.P., when *he* was to blame. Drinking so he couln't sing one tune straight, though the fans had to pay for it.

You've read interviews. OK. Have you ever witnissed Gillan's true unproffesional behaviour? No. Good for you, because I have. He's the one that killed Deep Purple. A wet alcoholic destroys everything. Now he's only hoping for a teen to screw him.

The point, I believe, is that Gillan is still taking them on a regular basis. And the jabs aren't just "Blackmore was an unprofessional git". It's "whatever evil related to music business you can think of, Blackmore was there to make it worse".

What's interesting is how come Gillan knows this for sure. Was he there too? emoticon

I've seen some interviews too, that goes in the same vein as those you refer to. I've heard Gillan say Blackmore is "very intelligent".

Once Gillan claimed he would rahter slit his troat than to sing in DP again.
Once he joined Black Sabbath for a year without knowing he did so. Gillan says a lot. I'm not sure what half of it he really means.

Do you remeber the interview Gillan recently did with the bank...

He seemed like, in that interview, he was kind of a slightly senile out of touch guy who doesn't really understand much of what's going on around him.

Or read some of his rants on the EU on Caramba. He is a bit of a circular thinker....no wonder he contradicts himself some times.
