Help! Old LP's!

A few years back I found In Rock, Fireball and Machine Head (LP's) at a antiqueconvention (!!). They all have the innersleeve with pictures, lyrics etc, and Machine Head even has a textsheet.

How do I know if these are the original albums from when they were first released? They are all in mint condition! Are they worth anything, or are they just a collectors item for fans?

Btw, I'm not going to sell them whatever price... emoticon

Dont know if theres a difference in U.S./ U.K. releases( I'm in the U.S.)....

My Machine Head has a green label on the LP...labeled as BS 2607. The LP is in a coupon/advert envelope (Warner/ Reprise Loss Leaders)...as a matter fact, all those albums you name have green labels, in an ad/ coupon envelope...Lyrics for MH werent printed on the LP cover, they were seperate, as was WDWTWA....

I bought the lps in Holland.
In Rock and Fireball were on Harvest (yellow/green) label, MH was on Purple Records.
IR had pictures and lyrics printed on the inside of the cover,
FB had a lyrics sheet and the lp itself had a different way to be put in the cover. You had to open the cover to put it in.
MH had a lyrics sheet in purple. It was about 10 inches by 30 inches if I remember it correctly. I have 3 copies of it, because after so many spins I had to buy a new one and a new one.

Check out the discographies section at the DPAS site. The have discographies for each album. You should be able to tell an original by the catalogue number.

I hope they're originals, you can't beat 'em when it comes to sound - or vibe!

Only certain territories have the liner text, some have the lyrics on the cover, some in the sleeves.

InRock, with lyrics?

You won't find a lyric sheet on a U.S. edition of Fireball, but on MH you will.

Each album was released in mass territories, as I have some 14 MH copies, and the nicest Fireball, for sound and artwork, is from Singapore, all Japan issued albums, have the lyric sheets, but you can hardly read them, for obvious reasons... Ayones Daughter, "threw me in the car." emoticon

Can't remember exactly which pressings I have/had (all my DP vinyls are at a mate's house - we have a (most friendly) disagreement on whether he has aquired the albums from me, or what emoticon ), but of course it's the UK pressings that are the ones to look for.

I do remember I had a German "Hör Zu" pressing of IR, and that Fireball had a gatefold sleeve with a lyric sheet.

I have the "Hör Zu" fan club editions, nice collectors items they are, this is why I collect multiples, they vary in so many ways.

InRock green vinyl, now thats pretty.
