I think both Rapture of the Deep and especially Purpendicular are two very good albums. I wouldn't call them Classics, but they are two excellent reasons why Dp should stay together.

Well, I don't agree with your opinion of ROTD. As I've said ever since 1996, I hated _|_ at time of release, but it grew on me, to be a very good one (I even bought the US edition to get the bonus track, though I had the European edition). Classic, no, just as you said, but good. It was fresh, it worked. The tour worked, though Gillan was probably close to his worst ever, along with the TBRO tour.

Great. I've heard somebody say they don't like the current DP and this record sucks and so on and so on and so on... frankly too many times for my taste. Does it add anything to a discussion? NO, particularly when it's been said with that superior "look how cool I am" attitude.

Well well, here we go again!!!!!!!!!
I was simply asking a few questions, and one of the questions was: Why do you bother to stay on the forum if you don't like what Purple are doing today? Another question was: Don't you feel that it is a waste of time?
I wasn't trying to say that you shouldn't be here if you want to (you are all more than welcome), but from some of the replies I can see that someone was offended. Sorry about that! I wasn't trying to make anybody angry etc. There is off course room for all opinions here, but I feel that sometimes some of the people here are being negative just to be negative. Some posts doesen't discuss Purple, they just make negative comments about them just for the sake of being negative!
Just for the record: I'm a fan of Purple today, but I'm a bigger fan of the Purple that used to be. I'm NOT a Morse worshipper as one is trying to make me out to be (I find his soloing somewhat boring at times), but I respect him and I respect what he did for Purple during difficult times in the early nineties. And yes, I'm a Blackmorefan, but I don't want him back in the band! Why? He's grown into a big arsehole during the years, and he thinks that he owns people that are in whatever band he is in!
