Not Bolin's finest hour by far.

Seems like Bolin never had a finest hour, did he? He was too interested in destroying himself and anything else he was involved in.

His finest hour,in retrospect, was probably Spectrum.Although it seemed more like a jumping off point, things after that are kind of hit and miss.Btw,good to see you 'round here again,Gordo! emoticon CHEERS

TB had PLENTY of finest hours. Yeah, SPectrum sure is one. I'll take the Zephyr: Live (at art's bar & grill) as another choice, and Tommy Bolin & Friends: LIve at Ebbets Field 1974 as a chaser. Then I will swing myself around to the Teaser LP, help myself to a side dish of the James Gang's "Bang," and perhaps savor some of "Mind Transplant" on the CD. Having exhausted myself, I will relax to "PRivate Eyes." Plenty of fine hours in that line-up.

For a chap who died so young, he had so many finest hours.

Yes he had many problems / issues but dont use them to wrongly cloud the fact he hasnt left a wonderful musical legacy.

I would not say Mark IV was crap. I like most of the songs from "Come taste the band". I even like them played live on "Russian Foxbat". But Mark IV didn't shine when they played tunes from the Blackmore era.
