I dont give a rats a.. about sound quality , I actually just use the TV speakers ! Im listening to so many old dusty recordings from way back , so I guess its not that important to me.
For me , the P ... DVD is the better of the 2 , actually didnt bother to buy TA after borrowing it from a friend . I also have the CHOHW DVD, and its not a pleasure to watch , IMO...

I still listen to dusty old recordings too,it's not like everything has to sound good, and I didn't care till things actually improved, unlike the attempts in the 80's,and I can't apply this to older recordings anyway,as we're talking about the sound features that make up a large percentage of these new productions,if it wasn't this way, there wouldn't be such features to enjoy.
Look at it like you have the option to experience it the way it was meant, provided you have the equipment,it's not a requirement, just an option, but you'll never know till you try it,and then you hear the real deal, and your ears will thank you...or not.(options are always a good thing)

Off course you are right , I can certainly hear the difference when visiting friends etc. I guess it has never interested me too much , especially since there are so many other areas to spend all the hard earned cash , LOL....I would love to go out and buy something really good , but like most people I have to choose carefully where to spend money........When Im playing in my band , Im very fussy about sound , and my guitar etc has to sound just right for me , off course......

Second hand stores sell sourround systems dirt cheap, might be a future idea...

But it is not for everyone I suppose, cause it's not the traditional way of hearing hard rock, and can tend to have a glossy effect.

through the surround-system, but hardly any music.

My daughter is the queen of this, and I can't stand all those game noises going in and out of the speakers...annoying.

No, he is, his eyes are as square as his plasma tv, sneaking Raptores are hunting you from all different corners when at his place, and it's like:" Have you just said something?"

-"No, that was yesterday."
