Deep Purple is dead. Long live Deep Purple! emoticon

There’s nothing remarkable about it.
All one has to do is hit the keys at the right time and the instrument plays itself.

You can't say a band that still produces classics is dead.Especially live. Cascades' solo live gives me chills oftentimes. So does Sometimes I Feel Like Screaming intro. So does Fingers to the Bone Jon's piano part.So does Any Fule Kno That's riff.

Well, you didn't mention one song written post 1998, so, yes they are also according to you, dead.

I was going to say that the first two examples are convincing, the third one isn't! emoticon

The reason is that I havn't heard any live concerts from after 1998.I am sure there are tons of exciting stuff. As for studio versions, nothing after the early seventies can pump me up anyway.Live performances are the real thing.

There are plenty of boots out there, easely obtainable. And to me, they just doesn't cut it anymore. Many reasons, but most important, the vocals and the guitar. I am utterly bored when I listen to the boots, unless I have to hold my hands for my ears, to avoid my toe nails digging holes in the floor, when a certain nail, can't stop the inane screaming. It's bloody awfull, and I am ashamed when I tell people I like(d) Deep Purple. Even Coverdale/Hughes worst rendition of Smoke is far, far, far superior. But, that's the problem with taste, some like rusty nails, other prefer them blank.
