You can use that exact same argument today. Why do Gillan still "sing" We all came out to Montreux. They didn't.

Because "Three of us came out to Montreaux and the other two guys have been there too at another time but that´s not what this song about, so what did I want to say again ah yes by the lake genevea shoreline to make records with a mobile we didn´t have much time" etc doesn´t sing that good?
