Whitesnake get ready for 2004!
According to self proclaimed "road dog" Reb Beach in "Guitar One" magazine Whitesnake will come off their winter break & start to work again in April. "It's a team effort in Whitesnake - like five superheroes, all supporting David. That's really what I am : a Joe Perry to somebody's Steven Tyler, a Robin to somebody's Batman."
Sounds good to me!

So, what does that make Doug? Batgirl?
There's been a lot of Robins in Whitesnake over the years. Hope he doesn't think he's "the one" only to find Batman wants to clean out the Batcave again in a couple of years.
Him trying to link his situation with a duo like Tyler/Perry is a bit of a stretch, as well.
Tyler/Perry
Gillan/Blackmore
Page/Plant
Jagger/Richards
Coverdale/Beach
To quote Seasame Street, "One of these things is not like the others. Which one is different? Can you tell?"

Reb Beach? Are you talking about the one I almost didn´t notice on the WS gig this year?

Re: Whitesnake get ready for 2004!
Well I noticed him but for all the wrong reasons, he did a tapping solo (in the style of EVH) during Ain't No Love... which was sad to say the least! Seriously though, the news from what I posted is that the Whitesnake machine is back in action in April, perhaps they'll visit Europe in Autumn again? Fingers crossed!

Yes please! Try and avoid my wedding anniversary this year, Mr C.

I hope "Whitesnake get ready for 2004" means going to studio to record some new material.
Enough with the greatest hits. Oh well, maybe I could live with new DVD...

A new DVD is very unlikely, David has however promised us a live album and some more touring for this year.

I know there's some bootleg DVDs from the tour floating around, but I don't know the quality. I'm guessing they're audience-shot.
Like Christos said...an official DVD is unlikely which is too bad. I kind of thought this tour was to cash-in on the Whitesnake anniversary and get the name out there again.
I can understand his feelings towards not releasing an album of new tunes in this industry climate, but a DVD would have been a natural.

Re: Whitesnake get ready for 2004!
I agree, not releasing a DVD and banking on a tour which got a lot of very good reviews is a bit of a !@#$ move for sure. David's said that people were asking too much for too little about this issue, whatever that means! Personally, I'd be more than happy if he gets the live album out this year, you just have to learn to take what you can get with Whitesnake!

Re: Whitesnake get ready for 2004!
Too Little for Too Much - means NOT ENOUGH MONEY WAS BEING OFFERED TO DC TO RELEASE A DVD. Whatever you think of DC he is a wealthy man who needs money to keep funding his lifestyle. Obviously the DVD companies were not offering enough. In my opinion such a product would only sell 10-15,000 copies world wide...at the very best. This would be worth peanuts to DC...about 20,000. That's why we have no DVD. A shame.
