An (Almost) Interesting Statistic

Just reviewing some boots for my web page when it occured to me that out of all the DP albums both Fireball and Machine Head stand out from the rest.

Why?

Well, because they are the only two where every song can be found on a live recording, official or bootleg.

Maybe I need to get out more emoticon

Come Taste The Band should fall into that category as well. Burn too if you count the snippets of A200 sometimes played during Space Truckin´.

Serious?

I don't listen to too much MkIII & Mk IV, but still I didn't know of live versions of Sail Away or What's Going on Here, or A200 for that matter. Also was Dealer played live? If so I stand corrected.

Not sure about Dealer but you´re right about Sail Away.

What´s Going On Here was an encore in late 1973.

Thanks, I had no idea about What's Going On Here. Hopefully someone will confirm Dealer before I publish my webpage emoticon

I believe "-Dealer" can be found on the MkIV boot "In Deep Grief" from the Jai Lai Sportatorium in Miami, Florida on February 8th 1976.
According to the "Set Lists" section of the Highway Star + other references I've seen, "-Dealer" was performed 'occasionally' during MkIV's touring history.

It was an encore at the first Mk3 show. Didn't last long in the setlist.

Yep, Come Taste The Band needs to be added to the "played every track live" list.

I seem to recall hearing Dealer at Radio City Music Hall when I saw them there 1/22/76.

It's almost a shame they haven't played Flight of The Rat or Hard Lovin' Man live yet... emoticon Wonder why???

It wouldn't surprise me if you did, Brian. On the surface, and given how much of their studio album was a constant part of their set list, it seems unlikely that MkIV would've only performed the song the one time. I sort of feel the same way regarding "Comin' Home" - though in it's particular case I admit this may be more wishful thinking in the hope a decent recording will someday surface!
