Re: Robert Plant plays Deep Purple

I know! the fan blowing on him was so strong he asked if they bought it off Neil Young and could they turn it down as it would blow his wig off.
He also stated later that it was so hot in the place his make up was running.
The man was so cool that rather than having a support band he got the Uni band to support him. the mans got it right.

Re: Robert Plant plays Deep Purple

Plant really is in top form, amazing!
Talking about Plant and Purple.I'll start talking about Plant,i'll continue with Purple later on in this or the following post.
I'm 35 years, been listening to LZ,Purple,Heep,Sabbath since the age of 12,the usual story, never lost the love for this kind of music, never will! All you youngsters aka.everyone younger than me reading this board, please keep the fire burning in the many many years to come.
I just saw Plant with his great great band and must say i got much more than i expected, let me explain.
What i expected:
I was expecting somekind of hit potpourre of thing consisting of "all time greats of lz" filled with some plant&the new band kind of more or less crappy kind of solo stuff" (mind you i was always very very much up to the 1988-1990 Now and Zen/Manic Nirvana stuff) for me who was always too young to see them at their top form.
What i got:Well well, what did i get, this guy really shows respect to his roots and his principles but still, very smootly avoids the too often used trap of playing "the best of back catalogue".I really do admire Robert who after all these crazy years seems to have a really down to earth nice charm and humour,i was really surprised, not surprised anymore about all the nice girls falling for this guy! I am sure i would be a nutcase 100% sure with success like LZ but Plant gets better 2005,this guy is still fully sane after all these crazy years 1969-2005 and still getting better! The biggest surprise was the incredible band Strange Sensation. The whole gig left me for waiting for the new album in May.The gig with some of the new stuff promised more than Plant has promised in ages.Plant&Strange Sensation 2005 to me sounds more LZ than Plant has ever sounded since 1980.Check out Tin Pan Valley 2005 if any doubts! www.http://www.robertplant.com
Ok,finally to DP, I'll start a new thread about this, keep 'em replies floating in.
Thanks and sorry.Too much red red wine on a saturday night for me? Whole lotta love to everyone in any case! Regards from Hippie hippie now and forever

Sounds like a real good show. I'll have to pick up the new album when the time comes.

Led Zeppelin songs which he played in Prague:

- No Quarter (opener)
- Black Dog
- That´s The Way
- Gallows Pole
- When The Levee Breaks (end of basic set)

- Babe I´m Gonna Leave You (fantastic version, 1st song of encore)
- Whole Lotta Love (3rd and last song of the encore)
