RS.. I don't buy that the weapons of mass destruction were ever there. As for terrorists.. they are everywhere, in all countries with great loyalty to their homeland. The only way to stop terrorism is to get off their soil and get our noses out of their busniness. Let them fight and kill eachother. We have no business being there.

I hate dictators just as much as you do... If we mind our own business and yet they do become a "real" threat to the rest of the world then we go there and wipe them out. Of course this will never happen because the US and Britain is not there to protect the good citizens of Iraq just like they were not there 12 years ago to protect the good people of Kuwait. You know it and I know it.

BTW I am not European emoticon

Well, the law is the law and it wasn't our image to use. We should have went down the correct channels of getting it approved, but in the euphoria of getting the new album, it never occurred. You live and learn. emoticon

There must be plenty of bored...er...board members emoticon who've taken pics of Purple at live concerts over the years. Couldn't these be used as personal submissions?

American politics

Did we Americans really vote George Bush into office, that is the question. Many Americans think Bush used the WMD as an excuse to invade Iraq, and that the real reason we're over there is to weed out terrorists and to set up a Democratic state next door to Iran in order to stabilize the powerdeg that is the Middle East. Kind of a pre-emptive strike against terrorism. Some people agree with it, some don't. All I know is that the U.S. economy is suffering, especially in manufacturing states like Michigan. Bush has mounted a huge national budget deficit fighting this war in Iraq. Anti-Bush sentiment is growing in America as more and more soldiers come home in body bags and the economy falters. Many of us feel that Bush has not learned the lesson from Vietnam about protracted wars with no clear-cut exit strategies. In the first election Bush supposedly "won", Al Gore actually won the popular vote (those who actually voted!), not Bush. Bush won that election through the electoral college. Each state gets so electoral votes, based on population. After a major controversy over technical gaffes in Florida's voting system (hanging chads on some ballots, etc.), that state's electoral votes were awarded to Bush, which gave him just enough votes to win the 2000 election. In the 2004 election, it came down to the state of Ohio, specifically, a district around Cleveland that voted for Bush and gave him a narrow victory in the electoral college. A victory is a victory, of course, but it's not like the Americans are in love with Bush. Not by a long shot.

That's pretty much how it happened, yes! But like I say, no harm done! We'll just have to think again!

That's fine with me. As a matter of fact the US gvt in a very discreet way announced that that was the real reason for the attack on Iraq. WMD's were however, used by Saddams forces to kill his own Iraqi's and there is proof that this genocide happened so there really were WMD's, we are just taking the hit because they were not there by the time we arrived because we gave them too much time and warning to hide them.
