If you want reality in music then you should listen to Helen Reddy. The reality is that Ritchie Blackmore, Jon Lord and Ian Paice represent what Deep Purple was and in the case of this tribute band today, still is. Having a picture of Ian Gillan and his merry band of Blackmore Tributaries is blasphemus to the Deep Purple name. It's not this bunch that sells concert tickets these days,it's the fact that they play tribute to the Ritchie Blackmore and Jon Lord era that sells tickets. It's also not this bunch that made the name Deep Purple a force to reckon with, whether it's current or not, it's the triumvirate of JL, IP and RB that put DP on the map. This is just a poor mans Rainbow with only 2/5ths of that bands pop era intact and the main song construction guy out of the picture.
If you must include more than the MKII lineup, which you should, then it should be everyone. The Evans 1980 DP farce has as much right to the Deep Purple name as this bunch.
