The mind absolutely boggles........!

This was on the official site
" Candice Night makes NYC Broadway debut August 18th at the Imperial Theater in Manhattan when Hugh Jackman (The Boy From Oz) invited Candice Night and Lady Nancy to the stage to perform samplers from Ghost of A Rose and Past Times during his evening performance."

Lady Nancy is really going to have her work cut out to keep this sounding good or it'll be a really short lived debut for them all.

Maybe they'll call the show "Wailing on Broadway" or "I did it My Way" and it was off-pitch.

Frankly this is really totally amazing, they must have picked only the songs they know she can actually do on pitch, other wise this would be a total disaster, she's off-pitch more than she's on-pitch.

p.s. I'm just waiting for the replies that'll say "Candice is always great singer" etc etc.........well bollocks to you she certianly isn't.....go and wash out your ears, and stop listening to music, you've got a serious hearing problem..........your absolutely tone bloody deaf!

What the hell did she do, sing over Blackmore's Night studio stuff? Why wasn't Ritchie invited too?
Candice on Broadway? What's next, Letterman? Leno?
Anyway I was too busy seeing DP in Jersey that night so I had no time for a Broadway show!

Ya-da ya-da ya-da
Blah blah blah
You've taken the Gillans Micstand Prize Trophy away from me for being the most predictable regurgitator of paranoia-based drivel on these boards. Congratulations!!!
I know you've said she fits the music well in the studio but fails miserably live before so I'll give you some credit for listening to the studio albums with an objective view.
I however, have seen BN in a concert setting 4 times and an intimate setting 3 times and have never heard Candice sing poorly. I have heard her sing BN tunes without the aid of chorus and delay effects or pitch shifters and she sings the material beautifully. I also have a boot of BN from last summer and, just to try to hear what you've been ranting on about, have been giving it extensive airplay. While it's true she seems to struggle a bit with the last segment of FAM and the high note ("YOU") in Writing On The Wall, it's still on pitch. You are the one who should be begging for a number at the local clinic. You need a hearing specialist to cure your selective hearing deficiency (me thinks you're ear drum skins loosen up and you are listening off pitch after too much head banging) and also to calm your "everyone wants to make money" paranoia. A little Prozac combined with some valium is in order for you. You can pick them up at your local drug druggist.
I know your years salary is squat (since you've been so willing to gamble it away), so it's a good thing the health care professionals get paid from the exhorbitant taxes the real working public pays.
So just pony up to your local clinic and seek the help you need.

Well didn't I say these posting would come.......eh YES I did!

And first up we the "Blackmore-o-phile" with the varient on the "Purple are Perfect " theme. Now we have "Saint Candice who can do NO wrong", according to Ritchie's Strat well bugger me, now you all know.......I was wrong all along and in fact Candice is the best, most perfect, most tuneful, no-pitchful, exceptional singer Ritchie ever worked with, she's NEVER off Pitch and she's totally brilliant live on the evidence alone of the 7 times that Ritchie'sSTrat has seen her.

Well there you go, it's totally conclusive an open and shut case. He's seen her and she was jsut brillaint shinny and wonderful, SO DONT ANYONE, especially wicked ol me, suggest otherwise, or they'll have RS to answer too!!

How predictable, not to mention how dumb. but there you go !

No offence but your posts are the ones that are getting predictable.

Your posting is just begging for an argument.

Well then DumberThanMost, and completely paranoid to boot. You go and write a post just begging for reply, more or less invite the reply, and then pat yourself on the back when someone does. Completely brilliant.

At least you've finally taken your head out of your ass for a second (longest it's seen fresh air in a while I'm sure) and agree with me to some extent. Although now that you're so giddy in love with Candice, you're comments are just a bit over the top. And yes..the 7 times I've seen her I have yet to hear a bad performance like the ones you rant on about. I can only go by experience and until I hear otherwise, I'll go along with my own thoughts on it.

Well, BlackerThanNight, (mk2forever or whoever you are) why are you so negative? Wouldn't it be great if Candice had a successful solo career (so Blackmore could focus on something else instead of recycling 400 year old material?)
Most people in the world ARE tone deaf so why are you so surprised? It's not like anyone cares anyway.

I admit she is not best singer ever, but then is Britney? Celine? She is OK if you ask me, and she suits the material very well.
I'm sure there are people who love Candice no matter how off pitch she is. They won't realize it.
They are happy, so why should they stop listening to music? It's not like you must have a license to listen to music...

I'm not really surprised at all. I mean there are people here who live under the impression that Dio has lost nothing, even after a quick listen to the Gothenburg gig (!)

I think Candace is fine, but about the pitch problem, she definitely has it. They were using heavy choruses and delays in Fulda last year, I'm not sure if the pitch machine was in use. Most of the time she was fine, but during Writing on The Wall, after the lengthy jam in the middle, she started singing the chorus, and was on planet Mars as far as pitch. I swear to god, if the band was at 440 she was way down in 427 land she was so far off. I was about six feet from her so it was clear. Oh and if you don't believe she doesn't have a pitch problem, the first BN concert video from 97-98 is filled with her singing off key. Shadow of the Moon is completely flat, as are other songs. She can't even get on pitch during the hotel room acoustic jams, which is especially embarrassing. There's no excuse for being flat when you are singing along to acoustic guitars that are right there, with no loud band or crowd noise to distract your ears. I'm totally objective about this, and I love her and those songs, so this is not an anti Candace rant. I agree, she's going to hang herself on Broadway if they don't have the pitch correcting.

Well said John. This is exactly where I'm at with Candice, sometimes she's ok and on-pitch, but it's just not at all consistent. I like the songs a lot, I like her voice, I think she's great for that role, in that band, playing that music, BUT if she wasn't Ritchie's partner she'd never see the light of day based on her vocal talents, that's just a fact. There's just NO point pretending otherwise, as people here seem to prefer to do.

Thank goodness, at last, somebody else here can be honest and objective too.
