The Last in Line is Dio's greatest solo song ever. How did this make the list?

Can't argue with the 1987 version of Here I Go Again.

Honestly, I think Dio has recorded one or two songs that could have a place on such a list. But The Last In Line??? Have they gone nuts??? Why didn't they throw in Holy Diver, while they were at it?

I did expect them to listen to the whole record, if listing it. The title track is undoubtly one of the better, and from one of Dio's better albums as well.
If they don't like keyboards in metal, how come Dio's "Rainbow in the dark" ain't there? Maybe they like that one, after all?

I only speak for the song Balls to the Wall, because that's all I've heard from the band, maybe one other. But that song is very much like an AC/DC one, especially the chorus and that part where they chant "balls to the wall..."

Super Trouper - do yourself a favour and discover the best German metal band ever! Get any compilation or get any 1980-86 record (they are all superb). Prepare to be ROCKED! emoticon

I'm surpised no one noticed or mentioned that in the background of one of Ricki Rachman's segments, there was a framed picture on the wall behind him, which featured a very familiar band line-up. Took a second before I recognized the gatefold photo from Rainbow Rising. As the camera panned around him,the album cover came into view as well. Both nicely mounted in a frame. Probably the coolest thing I saw on the whole show.

Sorry to disagree RJM. I guess I don't get it. I hate this song and all the phony angst from that midget singer. But they did do one thing for me in the 80's. Pushed me away from all the crap metal and into a blues phase of my life.
Thank God for Stevie Ray Vaughan keeping it real in the 80's.

I dont remember if it was the 40 worst metal songs or 40 worst Metal Moments, it is the show where the guy from Twisted Sister is narrating....one of the moments is that orchestras should never be mixed with metal and they give due credit to DP back in 69 who started it all (emoticon finally!!), also showing some of the concerto footage with Ian Paice....though I think GNR takes away the category with November Rain.....

That show really pissed me off. It showed how full of it VH-1 and MTV really are. I am about to the point that the only thing I will watch from the a-holes is VH-1 Classics.

That's why our case is called "the difference in tastes"! I like blues (though not SRV, whom I find extremely boring) and I love metal. Nothing wrong with that. That music will forever hold a special place in my heart, no matter which direction my tastes will go.

You guys take music too seriously! emoticon

A lot of that metal was bad, and if it wasn't bad, it was sung by people who looked quite silly anyway!

It's just a bit of fun, and they couldn't pick any crappy obscure metal songs to be the worst. Where's the fun in that?

Doesn't matter what ends up in a poll. There will be plenty of people who disagree!
