Also in Rock Star is a shot of a Marshall Head with DEEP PURPLE on it.
The movie with Jack Black about going back to school supposedly has him teaching Smoke On The Water.

Maybe not in a movie, but anyway. In one episode of the Simpsons Homer and Flaners are going to Vegas and Homer sings: "Nobody's gonna take my Ned...."

And in an other episode are Homer high on mariuana and listens to SOTW.

In an episode of series one of the classic British comedy drama Auf Weidersehen Pet, there is a Straight Between The Eyes poster in a German bar.

David Coverdale also gets a name check in the third series.

Once, in Boon [TV private detective of the 1980s, m'Lud], the character Rocky [Neil Morrissey], unlucky in love and in the depths of despair, came out with a cracker, "Oh no, it's like Deep Purple splitting up all over again!"

It's probably out on DVD now - be interesting to see who the writer was.

In the movie High Fidelity they aren't played but they get a mention from John Cusak during the part where he's putting his album collection in chronological order,he says this way I can get from Deep Purple to Howlin Wolf in....
There is also a clear shot of the
Made In Japan album in the d section of his record shop.
(kind of hard to spot on first viewing)
