Yea,and I already explained where that attitude most likely came from.
Tell me Brian, since when does a mean spirit constitute good results when making music?
It's all a part of the attitude, yes, but it's never much of a good reflection in the product.

There ya go readin something into what I have said that's not there or wasn't meant. The picture shows 5 guys who don't give a [sign in to see URL] anything and will play what they want to play regardless. It's Gillan withg a look of I'm better than you are and I''ll prove it. It's Jon Lord looking mysterious. It's Paice with the same cocky attitude as Gillan while Ritchie is just pissed that they have to take a picture to begin with and has better things to do. The only one out of plac seems to be Glover who has a look of "OK, I got these goobers to agree with a picture now take the damn thing already."

I kind of like the idea of a rotating banner. Maybe not a flashing one. Rotate it once a week or something.
there are always complaints about the band being portrayed as an oldies or classic rock band yet we perpetuate this by only having this banner from 30 some years ago.
I say rotate new and old pictures every few days or at least once a week.

I still say he didn't read my comments already posted about their state of being at the time, and why should he avoid the question about his insistance that frowning ever had a positive influence on their music. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
He has stated this countless times, which has me reading nothing into it that wasn't meant.
He was obviously having a jab at a band that is presently happy and not afraid to show it.
---------
Btw,in the picture they are definetly being kept down by something, whether or not they were calling their own shots musically.
Which reminds me,they still are calling their own shots musically, even more so now that no one is their to diminate and dictate what they write and play anymore. emoticon
I say as I did before, rotaion would be a dignified way to represent a band that thrives.

Although I happen to spend a lot of time here, I don't usually read everything in a long thread. Usually I read the latest stuff becuause, as you may know, sometimes these threads get off track. I have no problem answering any questions to prove your dementia. Whether it was frownig or not, they made some great music from the timeframe of that picture (Fireball era). Whatever it was, it worked. Maybe the problem with todays lineup is there is no tensions within the band and everyone is smiling. If that's the case, I'll take that band of frowners over the smilie Tribute Band anyay. Basically because I don't have to put up with or work with the frowners.

That doesn't mean that frowning has anything to do with, they didn't appreciate the media and having to be followed around by cameras,so they didn't give any creedance
to them by smiling.
People grow up over the years, thus changing their tune for the better, just because they don't churn out the same style of music that they used to because they choose to let growth take it's course, doesn't mean they aren't any good anymore.
So what if they were better back then, most music was,so why live in the past, when their is so much to enjoy in the present,as long as you listen, instead of predicting it's no good because it no longer contains
one or two people that you can't get past the thought of being there???
Why bang your head on the impossible dream of them still being a part of the fold???

I think we should change banner every month or so. The one from the spanish board was pretty cool by the way.

Since when is it important to grin in any camera they see? The lads were/are paid for making music! They aren't everybody's darling, they never were!
