Re: Too bad the band never filmed Helsinki 1987
Yes it was. HS, SKOW, PS, and WFT were from Irvine Meadows. CIT, was recorded partly in Phoenix, AZ and Oslo Norway. Dead or Alive -Milan Italy, HLW, ST, BN, and SOTW in Oslo. Bad Attitude, KAYBD, and Lazy in Phoenix. This is according to my CD insert. Before the album was released an FM station played the entire album very late at night. I remember listening and, during Space Truckin I was looking forward to Organ Solo but there was none.

Re:
I can’t find the source, but I remember that in one of the interviews they mentioned having about thirty shows that were recorded to choose from...now, THAT would be a nice box set!

Re: Re:
I remember the same thing. I think it was Roger who said they recorded about thirty shows during that tour. I can't believe that Nobody's Perfect is the best of the bunch. A box set would be great!! So would a bootleg box set of the 1993 tour.

Me neither. NP sounds like a cheap and quick cash-in thing. For me, it's the worst DP cum Blackmore official live album ever. Even Last Concert in Japan sounds better to me.

I agree. It is cobbled together and certainly lacks the aura of the older DP live releases. We know that there are some really good shows out there and if RG says that they recorded thirty, then they really dropped the ball on NP.

Re: Re:
From what I read back in the day, the tapes were supposed to start rolling from the Alpine Valley show in the US until the end of the tour, so one may assume that Helsinki gig was taped too. The question is whether the original material is still there and who is in charge of it now - and if there is any ghost of a chance to make a "NP #2" one sunny day?...

On the subject of tapes, I believe RB said in an interview years ago that he has cassette tapes of all the 1993 shows. I wouldn't mind hearing them!
