Rolling Stones, Detroit 1981. I was there and it was and is excellent.

I was in New Orleans, Superdoome I belive it was called.

I've never been there. It is an interesting structure. It is a rigid building, as opposed to the Silverdome in Detroit(actually Pontiac, MI), which had a soft roof and upper structure held up by air pressure. The Stones were excellent in Detroit and I'll bet they were excellent in New Orleans.

The place was almost full and it's very big. We sat in the middle of a big party of people from New Orleans, they were fun and very friendly. Also had their own (hidden) bar with them.. which was good for us too. emoticon

Wikipedia say 87500 people, that would be the biggest gig I ever attended..!

They did two shows in the Silverdome. Just under 153,000 concert goers.

Foghat was one of my first concerts. Excellent. The only Marino album that I have is 'Child Of The Novelty'. Good stuff.

He's one of my favorite guitarists. If you're into classic live albums, try out his 1978's "Live" or "Juggernaut", "Power of rock and roll".
His recent "Live at the Agora Ballroom" released a few months ago but recorded in 2010 is absolutely unbelievable: never heard a Gibson SG sound so good. And it's a six hours long show!

Six hours long? Hopefully, it was catered. Back in the day, all of these artists were played on the radio by real disc jockeys. We had the all night album replay here in Toledo once a week. They would play six albums back to back. Always a great listen and you could record them, which is why the record companies put a kibosh on that after a few years, I believe. They ended up switching to just album sides for a while and eventually that ended, also. I think that the great era of radio finally bit the dust in the nineties, when they started with predetermined playlists and when dj's would pre-record their shows and everything was planned and canned. No soul, just generic. Too bad. emoticon

The Winery Dogs. Tight! And so good. Also The Dead Daisies - Midnight Moses.
