No more Rainbow concerts in 2020?
Please excuse for the case, that this was discussed earlier:
Are there no plans for some shows next year? I cannot find any announced dates in the net.

Re: No more Rainbow concerts in 2020?
Dates have often been announced around the end of the preceding year, so who knows...last year Ritchie hinted that his back was aching and those could be the last, but then again, in 2016 he was all over the place saying he would only do those 3 gigs. As always: who knows?

Re:
I'm thinking the money is too good and too easy compared to the amount of work he has to put in. In other words; there will be more gigs
Anything for summer 2020 can be announced during the next month or two..
If dates are lined up for next fall, maybe they'll be announced during spring...

Re:
At 74 and a few aches and pains setting in I'm not sure just how easy that easy money is as the effort of it all takes its toll. Not many guys from the 60s and 70s can leap around like Jagger when I saw him recently.

All i can say is thank f*ck for that. Because i'm a masochist i'm listening to Birmingham 2016 and it is dire. Easily the worst record RB has ever put out. I don't want my very fond memories tarnished any further. (and i was there and really enjoyed the night but listening to it just shows how much nostalgia played on the night)

At least you enjoyed the show. Just remember the good time that you had and have that memory.

Re:
I agree with JSA1. It's obviously disappointing when you hear the mistakes and we all would have liked Ritchie to be in better form, but at his age it is what it is - flashes of brilliance, interspersed with other sub-par moments.
But the gigs were not just the celebration of Ritchie the soloist, they were also a celebration of his sognwriting, his band leader role, etc. Plenty to be happy about anyway.

According to Candy's Instagram they're finishing the next BN record at the moment.
I think Rainbow has ended; but Blackmore's Night will go on for a while. At least as long as he's able to play.

Re:
If Rainbow is over because the gigs are difficult, it would be a pity, in the sense that at his age, the live dimension should not have been in the forefront anyway, just as it is the case with DP. I understand how the market works and it does make sense from that perspective because albums often lose money, but we have enough proof that the most consistently enjoyable moments of the last few years have been those rare studio tracks - leaving aside the disaster of IS, both BSOTF and WFAS were really nice. And if he somehow manages to stay financially afloat with a new BN album each year, there should be more than enough of a market for a Rainbow album without going bust. Anyway, let's see what he decides, he has every right to do as he prefers.
