In this case it seems to be easy to write and record new songs (not counting the years from 2006 to 2012) but not so easy to perform them live regularly.

In some or many cases yes it is, even if your the one who writes the song. Maybe two or three new songs from the new album, but more than that, Gillan will have a hard time remembering the lyrics. He is somewhat used to singin the classics. AGE is the main reason.

Black Sabbath 1983, Gillan is only 38 yo. emoticon

And don't do enough of them on stage.

That ^

When I saw them in Oslo last autumn, they did just "that"..
Did quite a few numbers from Now What?! and Infinite. And it all went down very well with the packed arena. emoticon

That's Europe.

In the States we're lucky if we get a couple new ones thrown in to a greatest hits set, hence why I stopped going to their shows. I like a good portion of the MkMorse material, I just wish they'd play more of it when they come over.

Seems to be more a problem of the States than of the band. From the reviews I read, the newer songs don't come over well to the audiences in the States. So it's no wonder, they hardly play new songs. In Europe the new albums still top the charts, in the States (as i read) it's hard to find the new albums in record stores at all ...

You can find NW?! and Infinite quite easily still, but Purpendicular can be tough, RotD can be difficult and Bananas/Abandon are pretty much impossible.

I do realize its more of the "culture" over here than it is the fault of the band, its just a frustrating situation for some of us fans who really like and want to hear the new material live and don't get a chance to.

Of course, but when 6000 out of 6300 in the audience never even heard the new songs,it's a problem.
Have the Morse albums even sold 1 million collectively in the US..?

Because the vast majority of Americans are morons when it comes to [sign in to see URL] pop/rap crap is what sells.

As far as overall sales go, I'm not exactly sure...

Purpendicular-Didn't chart in the U.S.
Abandon-Didn't chart
Bananas-Didn't chart
Rapture-Didn't chart
Now What?!-Reached #110
Infinite-Reached #105

But after seeing that, my guess is that no, collectively they didn't even come close to reaching one million in sales in the U.S. lol
