Re: So maybe...

When many are posting about "Infinite" as their last album, I was talking about their 21st album..... Now I think I am right. 🙂
When many are talking about the END, I talk about Purple's continuity..... Maybe I'm correct.

Many are saying Mark 8 is the last, I think there's gonna be a Mark 9.... Well, in the future, I could be [sign in to see URL]. 🙂

And when they enters the studio to record with Ezrin or maybe a different producer, I could celebrate a little by opening my Ardbeg 10yo single malt. 😊😀

I thought it was over [sign in to see URL] last two albums have been really great. One more? If same quality then yes. But live will have to take a back seat.
My idols: Blackmore - Gillan - Paice
All feeling age (you'd find it hard to see in Paice) but time moves.
Gillan sings well - not 70's well - but far to good for 73.
Blackmore - seems a bigger dip in form, but even as a pixie player he seemed undimmed by age. he;s still very good - but Ritchie was always great.
Paice - seems ageless but the health issues are a worry.
and the lovely man that is Morse - his rheumatoid arthritis puts a real time limit on him.

I just wonder how much more touring they can manage, both themselves and in terms of interest.
They have toured every year since 1993..!
That is just crazy.. 25 years of constant touring.

Yes but they cannot stand to stay at home, I mean even when they're not touring with dP, they tour with their side projects. That's really a life style.

There is almost NOTHING outside Deep Purple. Just look at Gillan's Javelin, he looks ☹😭😬

The music is okay, but I feel like I'm so old,

If Led Zeppelin has Greta Van Fleet, Deep Purple have.........?

It's always been easier it seems to be a Zep or a Sabbath clone than a dP clone.

Even the bands/artists that got pretty close to dP/ Rainbow never fully embrassed it (Malmsteen, Spiritual Beggars, Stuart Smith,...).

I think that first you have to be a virtuoso, and that second Zep had a really distinct sound (especially the drums and vocals) and Sabbath has those typical riffs.

Exactly.

When I heard GVF, at last the next best thing to a Zep reunion. I don't need a Zep reunion, but thats just me. 😁

Mark 2 sounds is unique, impossible to copy, even Mark Morse is hard to copy.

In my humble opinion and as far as I know, as of now, no bands sounds like DP.

DP has to continue........

Gillans sings like a 73 year old with a bad cold and has done for decades now,
Blackmore still sounds unique but is miles away from where he was
Paicey still sounds like Paicey only more plodding and uninspired.
Morse is a nice man and a fine guitarist but time and illness have taken their toll.
Fact is age has badly faded all of their talents as it [sign in to see URL] are still legendary musicians though and their legacy is [sign in to see URL] continue doesnt make sense as they have become a bad parody of former glories IMHO.

Black Country Communion though they're just as much LZ as they are DP.
