Deep Purple brand new vinyl on Tetragrammaton label

I bought a sealed copy of "Shades of Deep Purple", "The Book of Taliesyn" and "Deep Purple" more than a year ago.

The album is under Tetragrammaton label from the US, I did a little net surfing and found out that the label existed from 1968-1970 only. It's impossible to have a sealed brand new copies from that period and the vinyl looks really brand new.

My questions are.......

Is this an official reissue or is this a pirate?

Anyone in here bought a copy of these Mark One albums? What do you think?

Oh, I thought you meant that now that Bill Cosby is going to prison that they're reviving the label...

I mean its not outside the realm of possibility that those are originals, but I'd say the chances are extremely slim that one would find 50yr old sealed copies of U.S. issues in Europe.

Can you post pics so we can see the covers/labels?

If they are originals, you did a very good buy.
They will in this case be worth quite a lot.
I read a few years back that these early mk I albums, if in good condition, are sought after.

I doubt it. I think this is a reissue and not a 1960s original pressing.

If these are originals DO NOT open the sealing because they might loose their value.

On the vinyl record itself it's a gray colored label and written 1968 Tetragrammaton Records "A Division of Campbell, Silver, Cosby Corp.

In case of doubt ask the DPAS. Simon Robinson knows everything about that stuff.
