Re: Re:
I've seen the following :-
Mk 2b - Knebworth 1985, Edinburgh 1987
Mk 7 - 1996, 1998, 2002 (all Glasgow)
Mk 8 - 2003, 2004, 2007, 2011, 2017 (all Glasgow)
I wish I'd seen every other lineup, but particularly Mk2a (circa 70/71), Mk3, Mk2c and Mk6. I'm a big Bolin fan but have got mixed feelings about seeing Mk4 live.
The one that I really kick myself for not seeing is Mk5. They played Edinburgh and I could have gone, but stupidly gave it a miss.
The best of those gigs that I've seen were 85, 96 and 98.

Re:
MK II Knebworth 1985, NEC 1987.
Saw them with Morse at Leicester de Montfort Hall in the 90's, no idea od the year.
Morse/Airey at NEC with Lynerd Skynyrd supporting (LS blew them off stage), again no idea of the year, and NEC in 2017.
Best was 1987, the shows with Morse/Airey the least interesting.

`96 Glasgow, impressive, much better than expected, wish Blackmore was there although Morse was excellent. Managed to see Blackmore the year before in London, and have seen him live four times with Rainbow and BN, but maybe should have made the effort to see the early 90`s DP...
was that at the old Barrowlands? If so i was there too and it was a great gig

Re: Versions of the band seen and wish had seen?
I’ve been fortunate to have seen the following
• 1985 Knebworth
• 1987 Wembley 3rd and 4th March,
Edinburgh 6th March 1987
• 1991 3 nights at Hammersmith Odeon
• 1993 both nights at Brixton Academy (the second of which is the best DP/Blackmore performance I’ve had the pleasure to witness!)
• 1996 one night at Brixton
• 1998 Wembley Arena
• 2002 Hammersmith Odeon (after which I decided this would be my last show)

Re: Versions of the band seen and wish had seen?
I've seen them some 30 times in all marks since 1985.
My first show was Nuremberg 1985; in 1987 I watched five concerts.
First let-down was Mk V in Freiburg 1991; akthough this is considered as one of the better shows of this line-up there was something lacking.
In 1993 I was lucky to be one of the 13.000 at Stuttgart along with two other shows - and yes, it was magnificient!
Mk VI I saw twice. One could really feel that there was considerably less tension on the stage - but as well (at least to my buddies and me) there was a lack of excitement.
Mk VII started well - fresh and with quite a few surprises. The Abandon tour, however, lasted so long that on the umpteenth leg of it some boredom shone through. One time it was Jon who was elsewhere with his headm then there were a few shows where Steve produced noise rather than playing a great solo.
When Don joined, he was driving the show in most cases I saw them.
Regensburg in 2013 was a mess when Gillan had a complete blackout during Into the Fire (IIRC). Stuttgart 2017 on the other hand was a great show again. So 32 years after I first saw them, these old guys are still able to thrill me :-) !
Sure I would have loved to have seen Mark IIa - but why bother about things I can't change? I had plenty of good times watching them on stage anyway!

Re: Versions of the band seen and wish had seen?
First show was in 1975 in Gothenburg, Mk III.
Second was 1984 in Sydney, the Harrison show.
Third was the HOBL tour 1987 in Gothenburg.
Also saw the Stockholm show in 1993, one of the very last with Ritchie.
Saw them with Joe Satriani in Gothenburg 1994.
Saw the first show with Steve Morse 1996 at Sweden Rock Festival.
And probably 11-12 times more.

yes they were brilliant and yes they did indeed blow DP off the stage they had the crowd in the palm of their hands. It was quite a dull DP performance IMHO,pretty sure it was this gig that they played Haunted at as it was just before Bananas was released?the only time the crowd really got going was during SOTW
