Re:
Honestly, even considering RR is not at his best on IG songs, out of the DP family in its current situation and shape, I can't find any better. GH would be an alternative, but you would get ALL of GH in the package...

Re: Mark IX?
It's all very hypothetical anyway. First, they (purple) would never engage him anyway because of obvious reasons.
Second, they will never engage anyone for that matter. Not at this stage.
For me it's very unlikely they will change any member of the band now.

My dream band would be Airey - Blackmore - Glover - Paice - Romero. With a setlist of their choice.
The more I think about it the more sense it makes. Paicey, famously pragmatic, was almost tempted in 73. The supposed 3 member rule would be fulfilled. It appears Morse is going anyway. DP would have a voice again. A setlist of their (Blackmore's lol) choice. Never mind, dream on....

DP would have a voice again.. Sure fine, but what about a guitarist?
Since Blackers would not be able to do it..?

Blackmore (with his current state of playing) and Romero are weak links of the lineup. Sorry, but it´s STILL Gillan who is the best in DP-Gillan songs… Romero is nothing but totally generic and frankly speaking boring singer and IG stuff he did with Rainbow was the worst part of the show (it´s Dio material which fits him best). I dont get this lineup - it would not work to me at all to be honest.

Although, having said that, the excitement of guessing whether IG will croak, gasp, cough, sneeze, succumb to the black death etc must be very entertaining. To ptr at least.
But the ordinary guy don't dissect Ian Gillan like you do..
But the ordinary guy has no idea wo Ian Gillan is.

Sounds right to me. RR just couldn't sing MK II songs, as many other (great) singers also couldn't.

I presume amongst those other greats you include IG. Sorry but in my perverted, upside down universe RB can play guitar, IG cannot sing. The opposite it seems to many.

By comparing my experience from DP show from less than 2 month ago and from Rainbow show from April... It really is opposite.
