Re:

I think SM will be the first to quit. As he mentions in a recent interview he begins to suffer more and more from his arthrosis. So bad that he actually need to learn to play guitar for the fourth time to keep up with the setlist.

Rumors were that he actually also mentioned a replacement but he denied saying it later on.

I didn't like his style of playing and honestly, I lost my feeling with DP at that time and albums. However, a while ago I watched the BBC show of Infinity and I must say that he impressed me. But surely he is in pain while playing his guitar so from point of view of the musician its a shame that you have to stop playing because it really hurts...

Re: Mark IX?

Steve Morse should quit DP after this tour, he is the longest serving Purple guitarist for the sake of his virtuoso fingers, he should allow.....

ULI JON ROTH, JOE SATRIANI or STEVE VAI to finish the new album.

Mr. Big will also have a farewell tour, means PAUL GILBERT will be available soon.

YNGWIE MALMSTEEN will be more than happy to help.

If Purple were to have to have a line-up change I would prefer to see Joe Satriani in if Morse were to finish. Not sure if Satriani's contract would allow him to this time. To be honest though I'd prefer to see Morse until the end, then finish with one big gig at the Royal Albert Hall with appearances from Blackmore, Coverdale and Hughes.

The answer my friend is in the Whitesnake's "Slip of the Tongue" album.

Any question that is answered by Whitesnake's "Slip of the Tongue" shouldn't be asked.

WHITESNAKE - Slip of the Tongue

The official lineup listed in the album.
David Coverdale - vocals
Steve Vai - guitar
Adrian Vandenberg - guitar
Rudy Sarzo - bass
Tommy Aldridge - drums

It looks like a two guitar players.....but for me, and in my opinion there is only 'one'.

Steve Vai is the only guitarist who played in this album and Adrian Vandenberg co-written all of the songs. One guitarist only write songs, the other only played, what a team.

Vandenberg has injury on his fingers and unable to play, there is some or a little similarities with Steve Morse case. emoticon

We don't want to aggravate Morse's fingers, so Deep Purple needs another guitarist, just in case, cause nobody wants to postpone tour dates or recording sessions, but that's just me. emoticon emoticon
