That ^

Leave the guy alone. If he wanted to be outed he would have been at the R&RHoF.

Agree he should be left in peace but it is very curious we don't know anything about where he is these days. It's a bit sad that we don't even know if the original singer of Deep Purple is still alive or not. Shame he couldn't just do one small statement for the Rock and Roll hall of fame which wouldn't compromise his anonymity. Guess he has bad memories of the time and wants to forget it all.

I guess my answer was easy to understand:

NO.

For moral reasons.

I see and respect your point.

While I certainly respect his privacy, and I would never seek him out, I think his story is very interesting. Imo, it's not too unreasonable to be the subject of such a book when you are
A: the original singer in one of the biggest bands ever.
B: Tried to revive the band years later, but himself being the only person who had ever been in the band before.

So it would be nice to hear from someone who has read it and could give an opinion on whether it's worth to get it emoticon

Re:

come to think of it, Evans was a pioner in some ways.

How many bands these days are touring with 1 original members, and is much more a brand than a band?

Evan's stunt in 1980 is more and more common now

I agree to you that I find this subject interesting. But the moral side of it prevents me from buying this book. It may be well written and exciting to read, but I won't do.

Re: Has anyone read this book?

What's immoral about that? It's just some research about a person, nothing intrusive (that I know of).

It seems like a some kind of treasure hunt/ mystery book.

And it WOULD be interesting to get an interview from Rod Evans where he could tell us his side of the story(ies), and maybe potentially come out with a better image.

Plus, we always tend to remember the bogus part, but his work with both dP and Captain Beyond was some of the most interesting music from the late 60's / early 70's.

For me, the real immoral part of the whole MKI story remains the fact that Nick Simper was left out, for absolutely no reason, of the RRHoF induction. THAT feels really wrong!
