And what will happen if Steve says he quits and Gillan thinks that he still hasn't sung SOTW often enough?

He will sing it solo? emoticon

Yes he will, to around 200 people.

Yes, if you want to see emotionally absent technique, showboating and endless guitar wankery on stage at the expense of a band performance.

And another thing I won't discuss is RRRRRRRRRapture...

I have no problem with Gillan changing his mind many times. I'll be happy for the band to continue until 2027..........but with a NEW hard rock guitarist. That's all.

I repeat how I see and feel it - anyone leaving at this phase of their career means the end of DP. Steve said that this tour is his farewell one - but he didnt mention how long this tour is going to be. emoticon So when the tour will end sometime in future, it´s going to be the end for all of them as Deep Purple, not only Steve. They will go on "solo" or to other projects…

According to you, he said two, three, four...........what he really means is "ten". emoticon

It's their band they can continue until they wanted, it's their band.

When he was suggested "five, six" - he said "oh no, no... the end is near" So it´s more realistic to expect year or two, rather then three or four.

Who really cares?
I don't care if they carry on for another 20 years
I f they carry on with another guitarist Gillan won't get better
If Blackmore returns it won't get better, cause Blackmore is like Gillan not the guitarist everybody expects to be
It's all too late now

I prefer cd or video releases of THOBL tour, everything else will only lead to diappointments

I’m sure someone noticed this interview does not say Morse only is quitting DP. This band is quitting , but members will still play doing something - not DP.

Steve Vai is one of the greatest guitarist, I love many of his albums and DVDs, he is a good show man.

For the Love of God.....Vai and Purple is great, maybe showboating is what they need for to have an anti-boring guitarist, but thats just me. emoticon

Yes, indeed Steve Morse is the youngest, but keep in mind that his hand is damaged, because of that you have to add 10 years to his age. I don't meant that as an insult to Steve, he is a great and brilliant guitarist, but it is what it is, he had to take care of his hand.
