Instrumental version of Mistreated

I'm not obsessive about getting a Ritchie sound or whatever, but if I'm jamming on one of his tunes, nonetheless I do wanted to obtain a Ritchie like sound, I didn't think this effort I recorded yesterday was too bad, considering just his signature strat via decent cabling into a Yamaha Thr 10-X. I'd welcome constructive feedback! Thanks .

Some nice playing there. You can hear the Blackmore style coming out.

I have a RB sig Strat too and find that just a bit of delay on a crunch amp sim with minimal reverb gets a sound fairly close to the actual RB tone. If you put too much reverb on it, it tends to make the tone sound distant and blurs the attack on the notes a bit too much. The delay provides most of the reverb I need.

I think he uses a flanger on the studio version, but I prefer the live versions myself.

Great version, DH! We did a forum "Blackmore tribute" jam ages ago on here. Maybe we could resurrect the idea. It would be much easier to do now with improved technology?

I'm on for the idea.

I have the program here for the backing tracks. That version of CIT (apart from the vocals) was all done in my living room - drums, bass, keys, guitar, strings.

How's about someone suggest a few songs to start it all off? What you could do is get the guitar players to record their bits at home and send them by wetransfer and they could popped into the backing track.

Wouldn't it be cool to do a complete album of Blackmore covers with just forum members. I did a version of 16th Century Greensleeves a while back but it's dog rough compared to what it could sound like now.

Ok the vocals might be problem. emoticon

sounds good, I've only a smartphone to record with at present, complete luddite I'm afraid. presume that rules me out?

otherwise for starters I'd suggest

Knocking at your back door
Man on a silver mountain
Burn
Wring that neck
Anybody there
