And also - if it would be so terribly bad as some of you say - would there be 30.000 people in Moscow or 13.000 in St. petersburg last night? People had enough time to check this new line-up out over the last years. Come on there a bit starved over there from such acts visiting in the first place. It's also iffy to cite numbers as a sign of quality, lots of crap around that fills stadiums. And your comment about someone from the government being there as an "honour" was a total joke. This forum is for lovers of DP, and Ritchie in particular. No-one here expects Blackmore to play like he did in the 90s, but with quality levels as low as this your gushing posts are really close to blind worship that's all. Glad for you you enjoyed it though. Prime minister is Dimtrij Medvedev. We all know he is a BIG deep purple and Ritchie Blackmore fan. He even had the purps play at the Kremlin a few years back. So no surprice here really, he's allowed to be a fan just like us.. When I created my account here one year ago I knew already from reading that there's a lot of hate here in general, so I decided from the first day not to take part in any sort of discussions like these, because it actually goes nowhere. I respect your opinion, but that's about it. I don't share it. Ritchie's playing is different these days. I'm actually very happy that it doesn't sound like the 70ies, 80ies or 90ies, but that's natural development from playing a totally different finger style for the last 20 years. That would be boring. It's a new chapter, a new Rainbow, a new sound. Fresh and organic. Sometimes unrehearsed, sometimes really amazing. But that makes it so exciting. That's what I will say about it and I won't take it any further. I prefer to surround myself with fans who have a more positive attitude towards life. It's better for the soul and health. excellent post Stefan, totally agree. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Desperateheart)Thu, 12 Apr 2018 08:30:33 +0000 Re: 11.04.2018 st. petersburg - videos and so on...https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p515135,from=rss#post515135https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p515135,from=rss#post515135Gatts888 - let's leave politics aside; my wife is Russian and I think I know the situation well enough to say that, whilst I don't fundamentally disagree with your bottom line, the situation is much more nuanced and complex, besides being out of topic in this forum. I have only heard Mistreated and Carry On Jon, and so far I have to say the difference with Moscow is fairly big; yes, on Mistreated there are moments where the trainwreck is just around the corner, but at the same time he has some lines (particularly at the beginning) that are kind of newish, and more importantly his level of energy drive and focus is much higher. He has more fun, is more into it and the result, whilst not 1990-spectacular, is way different than 3 days ago. The reasons only he will know.nondisclosed_email@example.com (mtb7)Thu, 12 Apr 2018 07:31:30 +0000 Re: 11.04.2018 st. petersburg - an all-time up by ritchie!!https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p515134,from=rss#post515134https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p515134,from=rss#post515134quote:Stefan72 wrote: For Ritchie it was an honor, because he was the one who said he would be honored if he came. https://ria.ru/culture/20180405/1517955836.html You obviously have a different opinion on Russian politics, but I think that shouldn't be discussed here. I don't have an opinion on russian politics as there aren't any since the country's not ruled by someone representing the actual Russian people, so zero respect there for any of these criminals. That clip of Mistreated is filled with the same predictable lines over and over, RB's still struggling to get things right. They also fail in the solo ending segue, cringeworthy moment. The outro solo's slightly better, but still it sounds like it misses any power. If you call this an all-time up, you really need a checkup to be honest.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Gatts888)Thu, 12 Apr 2018 02:38:26 +0000 Re: 11.04.2018 st. petersburghttps://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p515126,from=rss#post515126https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p515126,from=rss#post515126 on facebook it says that even the prime minister of russia was there! nondisclosed_email@example.com (Stefan72)Thu, 12 Apr 2018 02:32:47 +0000 11.04.2018 st. petersburg - videos and so on...https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p515125,from=rss#post515125https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p515125,from=rss#post515125 nondisclosed_email@example.com (Stefan72)Thu, 12 Apr 2018 02:20:29 +0000
