Exactly. I prefer to see 5 Rainbow shows with a lot variety from show to show than going to 5 Deep Purple shows, because it's basically the same every night. That's not meant negative. For people who are visiting one show, a DP show is a high quality show. But for someone like me, who knows their songs in and out it's just boring to hear them the same way over and over again by DP. So I prefer a slightly unrehearsed band who does improvise quite a lot and also changes the setlist every night like Rainbow. It's more entertaining for me personally.

I agree, and I also share DH's view that the awkward moments are now just a few - two years ago it was a different story, with a brand new band, under-rehearsed, with an ageing leader, going to play a massive first show with loads of anticipation, and on top of that recording it audio/video for [sign in to see URL] was a lot of pressure, they put on themselves - and as a consequence, we all pointed out what was not working.
I feel that since then, whilst the band has taken quite a few steps forward, we haven't as much and we still focus a bit too much on those moments.

Going back to Prague, to me the most telling sign about how much the band chemistry has grown is that I felt Ronnie was not head and shoulders above the rest of the band, as it seemed to many two years ago: the "all crap, but that RR sure has a good voice" comments would have been out of place last week; not because he can't sing anymore, but because the others are playing better and gelling a lot more.

Agree. Interplay in child in time was very good.
