Re: 18 month "plays Classic Purple" tour

While I don't completely agree with Daniel's viewpoint I do think you're missing a chance to see a Purple member on form, playing classic songs with a superb band in an excellent venue at a reasonable price. Not worth a punt? You might be pleasantly surprised.

I've always been impressed even when he had a stinking cold in Cambridge last time he could still belt out burn for example.
By the way whatever did happen to that live album?

To be honest I'm sure it will be a decent gig but GH does my head in with his oversinging the !@#$ out of [sign in to see URL] i will give it a miss

I agree that he has been guilty of "oversinging" in the past but based on being at the Sydney and Melbourne gigs and watching snippets from other gigs on YouTube I don't think he is "oversinging" to the extent that he did during Mark III and IV.

If you went to a gig then I'd be surprised if you were disappointed. Almost tempted to offer you a money back guarantee!!

Yeah maybe Big J but as I said I’m no fan of Glenn Hughes vocal histrionics
And I have other things to spend money on than tickets and travel etc to Glasgow for an artist who generally annoys me 👍if it was BCC I would go

Ok, my last roll of the dice - Glenn Hughes solo band are much better live than BCC. Seen both. And you'll pay much less for the gig.

Didn't know what to expect when I saw him in Orebro about one year ago, but he did deliver big time despite having a bad cold!
Otherwise I do agree on your view (Light) that he is at times OTT when it comes to show his abilities singing wise.

I agree with light here. The histrionics are just way too much most of the time. Plus, he has a very inflated view of himself and his own importance. As one person commented on one of his youtube videos,'The ego has landed'. He has a fantastic voice and the way he keeps it up at his age and after all the crap he did to himself back in the day is amazing, but enough already. emoticon He has a crackerjack band, though.
