Re: 50 years of dP
If they will NOT make any NEW ALBUM in the future, they should just disband and END it.
But if they plans to make new album in the future, then by all means CONTINUE. Making a covers album is also acceptable for me.
For me recording new/covers songs is a big part of Deep Purple existance, especially at this point when they are not as good as their 1970s peak performances on stage.

That's for sure, they're still capable of releasing very good albums!
A cover album? No for me...I got enough with that Crap-tastic Roadhouse Blues version.

Re:
Imho Now What?! is an excellent album (from the instrumental side, you cannot expect a 67-year-old person to sing like a yong god). I would find it strange if a band who is able to do such an album would do an album consisting of cover songs only.

Re: 50 years of dP
A cover version album is really for bands who have nothing left to offer. The last album, whilst a bit plodding is places shows that they can still come up with decent songs.
The cover version of Roadhouse Blues is up with the worst studio tracks DP have ever recorded in my opinion.
