Re: Ian Paice in concert
Very good concert from Ian & the lads of Purpendicular, a very Mk Morse dP tribute band with a singer who sounds like an early/mid 80's Ian Gillan on a good night.
Set list (not in exact running order):
Highway Star
No one came
Fools/Fireball
One Night in Vegas
Stormbringer
When a Blindman Cries
Black Night/ Roadhouse Blues
Space Truckin'
Perfect Strangers
Speed King (drum solo)
Smoke on the Water
2 original tracks from the band Purpendicular (one instrumental ending with Cascades)
encore:
Ian Paice speech
Child in time (extremely good version)

Obviously not setlist wise. (Like the original.)

Well, actually they are a strange tribute band, as they play all the classics but the way MkMorse play them. Also, I've been listening to the two good studio albums they produced and, though clearly purple influenced, they sound more like Purpendicular/Abandon stuff, rather than the usual Burn/Machine Head clones.

So they they seem to be a quite authentic Mk VII/VIII tribute band. Setlist and style wise.

Re: Ian Paice in concert
Yes. And a good way for Paicey to keep in shape while dP are on vacation (as explained by Ian himself).
