Re: Dio Returns

I saw Queen+Paul Rodgers and loved [sign in to see URL]'t had a chance to see Queen+Adam Lambert yet but would go in a heartbeat if it worked out. I did see Brian May solo back in '93 w/Neil and Cozy and it was [sign in to see URL] to meet them all after the show. I was as much in awe of meeting Cozy and Neil as I was Brian lol

I did see the EP show with his TCB band and loved it. I have the orchestra albums but have no desire to see the shows. One of Elvis' dreams was to be able to sing with an actual orchestra. So while he didn't get to do it in his lifetime, I honestly don't see harm in the albums. He expressed his wish to have it happen.

Re: Dio Returns

This hologram thing is just another desperate attempt by the business to wring more $$$ out of their audiences. Having successfully fucked the music scene with things like the x-factor and all the totally manufactured bands/artists who produce successful but very short term returns, there isn't much original talent getting the chance to break through. Assuming the talent is there anyway.

The "manufactured music and artists" have raised the expectations of the consumers to level where it's very hard for the traditional routes o bring artists forward. You can see mega huge production arena shows all over now so it makes it very very hard for upcoming small bands to shine. The expectations are too high and essentially unachievable. Aslo the "backing track" market has opened the possibility for untalented performers to largely mime their way through gigs that would previously have taken a full band, so many gigs that bands would have cut their teeth on don't exist out there thanks to the backing track performers.

And [sign in to see URL] of dead artists !!

In the next 25 years or so, there will be nothing but computer created tracks performed by computer generated artists.
That's the music business for you, utter sh1te!!!

Happy New Year y'all

Bagshot: Where is the money in a club gig drawing 100 people?

If it would have been arena gigs, sure, but these are poorly attended club gigs.

It's not going to make them rich.

Personally, I have no interest in seeing this. Last in Line is more Dio than the Dio Disciples ever were.

As long as no real band has to cancel their show because of this hologram nonsense, I think I can tolerate it.
