YOUR TOP 5 ALBUM'S OF 2017.

1 Black Country Communion - 4.
2 Tequila Mockingbyrd - Fight & Flight.
3 Ezoo - Feeding The Beast.
4 Gun - Favorite Pleasures
5 Inglorious 2.

A couple of good albums that just missed out are King King Exile & Grace along with Renegade 12 by Renegade 12.

However BCC 4 has been my fave album due to some terrific tunes namely The Last Song For My Resting Place (My fave song of the year) and Wonderlust

TM were a great discovery at the stone free festival. 3 girls who know how to deliver. Love songs such as Somebody Put Something In My Drink, So Not Me and the moody This Ain't Dead Along with anthem I Smell Rock NRoll.

Ezoo came out the day before my birthday. Loved Dario Mollo since the Bonnet Airey tour a few years back. Title track is brilliant. Shows Bonnet on form and good example why they chose him is showcased on the Eyes Of The World cover.

Gun were another band from stone free I saw live and loved the title track. Other great songs are Here's Where I Am, Without You In My Life & Tragic Heroes. The main album finished with lovely ballad The Boy Who Fooled The World. The bonus edition hads a great cover of Fight For Your Right To Party which was done live at stone free.

Finally Inglorious 2. Again constantly high quality songs throughout the album such as Tell Me Why, Change Is Coming My Way, and No Good For You.

The 2 biggest disappointments this year were Europe's Walk The Earth & you guessed it Deep Purple's Infinite.

Of course its all about opinion but that's 2017 in album terms for me.

1. Cats In Space - Scarecrow
2. John Steel feat Doogie White - Everything Or Nothing
3. Avatarium - Hurricanes and Halos
4. Deep Purple - Infinite
5. Tytan - Justice Served

I've not got BCC4 yet. Hoping Santa is reading this.

I found Inglorious 2 ok. I saw them with Wayward Sons supporting and enjoyed Wayward Sons much more. I think Inglorious are a bit lacking in the songwriting dept and I reckon Nathan James will be successful but probably in other projects more than Inglorious. Having said that the Classic Grand in Glasgow was sold out and everyone there seemed to be right into the band so what do I know emoticon

The Cats In Space album is just a brilliant mix of very clever songwriting, superb performances and amazing production. Never tire of listening to it.

The John Steel album is Doogie's best recent performance. Thoroughly recommend it.

Doogie turned me on to Avatarium through a Facebook post. They are a mix of doom and classic rock with an excellent female singer (Jennie Ann Smith). The Hurricanes and Halos album doesn't quite match up to its predecessor (The Girl With The Raven Mask) but it is still very good.

I like Infinite emoticon

Tytan's 1985 Rough Justice album is one of my NWOBHM favourites. The Justice Served album is the follow up and while not a classic (like Rough Justice) it is a good representation of a great live band.

I can't come up with 5...

So I'll go with the one I most anticipated and am still excited about, Black Country Communion IV.

Re:

I don't think this year has been as good for albums as 2017 was. My list (not in any particular order) is:

Infinite - - Deep Purple
The House - Iain Jennings
Eternal Spring - Bella Hardy
Scarecrow - Cats in space
Going Home - Don Airey

Infinite is Deep Purple's best studio work for years.

The House is a masterpiece of storytelling (it's a concept album), brought to life by singer Mark Chatterton who sounds different for each "character" he sings. Amazing stuff.

Eternal Spring is Bella Hardy's "diary" of her recent Chinese tour, a mixture of Chinese and English voices, instruments and musical traditions, with spoken-word linking sections. If I was ranking the list in order, this might be #1.

Scarecrow took a bit to grow on me, but after a while you can't help singing these songs. This band deserves to go a long way.

Going Home isn't what you might expect, it's a solo piano album that crosses a number of styles but is more jazz than anything else. I had no idea Don had this kind of music in him, and it needs to come out more.

I like the new video for Walk the Earth, Europe. Healthy 450000 views at YT.

Pussled though how New Love in Town only have 30000 views since this one is so good..!?

Just received the "Cats in space" for x-mas, and I must say it's a brilliant album! I mean, I had read good reviews, but I had mixed feelings about their influences (Supertramp, Styx,...). But I definitly think they're much better than all those bands (at least to me), and the sound is much more "hard rock" than what I anticipated.

Anyway, great [sign in to see URL] already ordered their first one!
