Re: Collecting Deep Purple studio albums on vinyl

My brand-new standard edition "Stormbringer" has arrived, but the bad news is I failed to acquire "The House of Blue Light". ☹️

Now "three" are missing from my vinyl collection.
1. Abandon
2. Bananas
3. The House of Blue Light

THE HOUSE OF BLUE LIGHT deserves some respect by reissue, using the longer playing time as in the original CD release in 1987.

It's been more than 30 years now!!!

2. The Book of Taliesyn
3. Deep Purple
4. Deep Purple in Rock (3-copies)
5. Fireball (2-copies)
6. Machine Head
7. Who Do We Think We Are
8. Burn
9. Stormbringer (3-copies)
10. Come Taste the Band
11. Perfect Strangers (2-copies)
12. The House of Blue Light
13. Slaves & Masters
14. The Battle Rages On...
15. Purpendicular
16. ABANDON (AFAIK, it's impossible to have.)
17. BANANAS (Very expensive, I can't afford it.)

20. Infinite (2-copies)

As of now, I still don't have "Abandon" and "Bananas" in my collection, you know the reasons why. emoticon
If anyone have a copy of "Abandon" on vinyl format.......

.........You are blessed and I will praise you. emoticon

My question would be why ?
whats the need for multiple copies ?
I mean why do you need 7 copies of IR??
Sure i can understand anniversary editions with added material,
but 7 copies of one album?
In Rock is one of the greatest rock albums of all time for sure but 7 copies of it?
I don't get it?

Re: Collecting Deep Purple studio albums on vinyl

It's because I'm a fan and a collector. Here are some more of the reasons.

In case of IN ROCK....
CDs:
1. Warner Bros (US) given by relative in US.
2. EMI (UK)
3/4. Anniversary Edition (2-copies) and when I saw it on sale 2 years later, I bought another one.
LPs:
5. Warner Bros (US)
6. Friday Music (US)
7. Japanese pressing
I'm planning to buy my 8th copy in vinyl on EMI label.

In case of STORMBRINGER....
LPs:
1. Warner Bros (Original US pressing)
2. Friday Music label
3. UMC label
CDs:
1. EMI (UK)
2. Remastered Edition (2CD)

Others:
I had to buy a new ones, because few of the CDs are oxidizing, not sure if thats the right word. The sound is still good and okay though.

The bottom line is different pressings, different labels, different artwork, different countries that made them, bonus tracks, etc, etc,

If only I have not lost my original vinyl LPs in the early 1980s, I will have more copies of the classic albums.
