I have a feeling DP r going to reunite with RB

DP is on record saying this is last world tour.

RB is repeatedly saying in press he would like to do a show with the band (he's interested in rock again)

IG no longer seems to harbor resentment towards RB - recent interviews he's talked very favorably about him and even said business issues are behind them.

SM has chronic hand issue and now is on record saying it would be good for RB to return...

Dregs are reuniting in 2018

Call me crazy but I think its going to happen...would not be surprised if RB guested at upcoming NE shows.

First:
That Steve´s comment is about playing one-off gig of current band with Ritchie. I used to be positive about that, but actually - since his Rainbow circus appeared, I´m against it - it would bring nothing good. Current lineup has much more to offer than Ritchie currently has (which is actually absolutely nothing in terms of hardrock music). Also - Steve´s position is still the same, nothing changed in his case - he has always been positive about playing with Ritchie. Issue was somewhere else, it has never been Steve. emoticon

Second:
Dregs have time for brief tour for next spring. It´s pre-planned for the same period of time when Don is going to release and tour his new solo album with his solo band - those tours are around March and it´s supposed to be like that next year too.

This is the best news and when they discovered that it still fan to play with Ritchie, I predict the band will continue for a few more years and even make album number 21.

By that time ptr will be known as the Blackless Crusader. emoticon 😜😀

There is one huge difference between us:

You believe that Ritchie has interest in rock again.... and in my brutally honest opinion - no he hasnt - there is no heart and soul with his so-called Rainbow group - he does it for money and nothing else, not because of music itself. His strategy obviously was let´s make it cheap to make as much money as possible. Therefore - I actually suppose that his saying about interest in playing with DP is just rubbish which is already finished - it ended up how it should have - it increased interest in Blackmore in media. In real world - he doesnt want to play with them in any other scenario than "aka Rainbow" thing, and therefore - if you dont mean it really seriously (and Rainbow really arent meant seriously), then it´s absolutely useless. And with this scenario - I´m 100% AGAINST Ritchie anywhere near Purple ever again. Let´s Ritchie play his crap with Rainbow, but please dont waste Purple.

If it happens great, i don’t have a problem with that , could be ok. gillan’s voice is the main concern. Blackmore plays in a certain way these days, but i quite like it, preferable to Morse’s high gain widdling.

So let’s see IG is probably still against it, ditto IP, Roger and Don probably wouldn’t mind.

So as always Bruce Payne, the ultimate puppet master, probably has the final say, and guess what like all good managers.....all he’s gonna see is $$$$$$$!

Wonderful interview by Steve Morse with a very remarkable statement about what was going on with the HOF thing:

quote:

And at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, I thought Ritchie Blackmore was going to show up. He could've played three songs, but I ended up doing them, because he didn't.

At least Steve Morse has understood. It would have been Ritchie's bl**dy d**n right to perform there, he was the only guitar player being induced. But Steve played because Ritchie didn't play. So it was nothing more than consistent that he played his SOTW solo note by note.

I already had lots of respect towards Steve Morse, now I have even more.

Another difference between us is you believed Steve is a real hard rock guitarist and in my brutally honest opinion is he's not. It's all about money also.

In the interview Bob Ezrin told him not to play as his normal self or his natural style. In my opinion it's something like this:
"Hey Steve don't play like a country/bluegrass guitarist, DP is a hard rock band not a country jazz band". emoticon emoticon

No - I had no problem with Jon when he played with them as guest and Satch is always welcomed. emoticon

BTW current Ritchie is much less hardrock guitar player than current Steve. Steve is universal guitar player, Ritchie completely lost it - so...

Look, Ritchie may be different from his own past, and you are entitled to your opinion, but the magic that surfaced here and there in the six shows that Rainbow did over the last two years is something that unfortunately Steve has not been able to produce in a gazillion concerts. He may be universal and he sure is a class act, but he is not moving me or many others - he plays a bit like an exercise book...but again, to each their own.

And one question: how come you are so efficient in repeating every time (even when it's out of context) that Rainbow "was not taken seriously", yet you fail to mention that IG has, for the last few decades, had serious issues with remembering his own lyrics - is that "taking it seriously", in your book?
