Can't see any difference between Gillan's Inn and the Purple album. Two ex singers from DP covering their old songs because they had nothing new to record.....and making a worse job than the originals.

Mine is "Gillan's Inn". Terrible! I put it on yesterday on the way home from work. I forgot how awful it was. It makes Whitesnake's "Purple" CD seem like a classic.

Agree on Gillan's Inn. I don't like the production, the vocal performance and I don't think any of the songs are any better than the originals (or different enough to make it interesting).

Jon's Windows album - nothing on it worth listening to again.

Actually - in my case it´s just opposite. Gillan´s Inn is ok album for me, mainly because making that album simply made sense (it had some point to record "best of" compilation with rock colleagues and stars), of course it had some truly terrible moments (Trashed is absolute trash), but it had some very good ones too (I prefer Bluesy Blue Sea from that album to original). Another point - I LOVE to listen this album in multi channel setting, it´s simply completely different experience than normal audio CD side. It´s like band in your living room experience - great idea! emoticon

For me, Purple Album must be among the worst stuff EVER released in DP family.

Your Gillan fanboy traits are showing again mate emoticon
there again you've always been the master of double standards when it suits you emoticon

The difference is that IG recorded those songs with special guests like Iommi, Dio, Satriani, Healey, DC did it with his regular band. Therefore the first one at least makes some sense in terms of "uniquness" of overall lineup, 2nd one miss that point. emoticon

Still the same songs sung worse than before. Difficult to see a difference other than IG probably picked better musicians to cover up his vocal shortcoming.

Took a listen to the Gillan's Inn samples on Amazon. No, it's not even worth 3 Euros. It just would waste space on the shelve.

Hard to choose between Abandon, Bananas and ROTD. All equally un-listenable.

Bananas is one of my favorites. I like Abandon quite well too.

I fully agree on ROTD though. Its a toss up between that and TBRO as the worst I own. I find both dreadful. I have steadfastly refused to listen to S&M, so I can't include that.

I still do not understand aloofness to Abandon album.... overall it´s imo very good album and first half is magnificent and despite the fact that Jack Ruby is often "hated" song I totally LOVE that track. In opposite - I´ll never become fan of 69 (IMO one of the weakest one from Morse´s DP period).

I bought this for £1 from a car boot sale, and horribly overpaid. I honestly believe that this was the worst occasion that 100 pennies have left my pocket simultaneously. There is not a single redeeming feature on this album, a total waste of time.
