Re: Re:
Tearing up his Japanese visa in 1993 thus putting the Japanese tour at risk (which was then done with Satriani)?

Re: was that the last time
Not sure about that - wasn't it Mr. Udo who arranged his first trip to Japan with BN in 1997 or so?

Re:
Having done the memories in rock now twice in the UK ( albeit brum but last year people came from all over the world) I think it would make sense to do the USA as an easier travel option.
I think lots of people won't worry to go in the UK again unless there is a new album to be toured.

Certainly its now well and truly lost the "return to rock" bullsh1t appeal, if it ever had it for some in the first place anyway.
Pastures new for Rainbow I think, or maybe he'll not bother, given that the BN anniversary thing is on the cards just now, isn't it ?
I think he'll be using these UK shows to demonstrate to other promoters in other countries that his shows will make them money, he's still a draw, he's still someone people want to see.
If there's money in it Mr Udo will soon get over the upset in 1993 I'd guess. Japan is a massive market for Blackmore, sooner or later, if Rainbow proceeds and the cash is right, then they'll get there!

Re: was that the last time
Rainbow played Japan back in '96, so I'm pretty sure all was settled with Mr. Udo then.

It was '95, and yep it was also via Udo, as well as Blackmore's Night shows in 1997! So there's no bad blood between the two at all!

They need to get in the studio and record a new album.
